What does WCRN do in afternoon drive?

With the impending departure of Howie Carr from WRKO to WTKK, what does WCRN (& Howie’s other New England Affiliates) do in PMD. IMO, WCRN will go local rather than syndicated. With the recent addition of Upton Bell as a contributor on the Peter Blute Show, I could see Hank Stolz moving from the 9 a.m. to Noon slot to PMD. Upton Bell could then take over his late morning time slot.

The irony of these moves is that it would set up a ratings battle between the former WTAG News Director Hank Stolz now on WCRN against the very popular Jordan Levy on cross town rival WTAG.

Also, Upton Bell held down a late morning show on WTAG for a number of years.

At the very least, it looks like the Worcester market will have two very competitive talk stations battling it out for ratings and Advertising dollars. Not bad for market # 116.
