I thought WNTF was a DAYTIME ONLY Station.... At least it was the last time I was in the Orlando area earlier this year.

That's what it's LICENSED for.

They operate at full power all night quite often and have been quoted as saying "We have special permission from the FCC" and they sell it as a 24/7 license to clients wanting to lease the station.

Special permission...yeah, right. Tell that to a visiting FCC Field Agent.

From what I saw on the FCC database WNTF does have both pre- and post-sunset authority. The PSRA (for 340 watts until sunrise) starts year round at 6AM but their PSSA only allows them to be on with greatly reduced power (like 25 to 30 watts) as late as 7:30 in the winter, 10:30 in the summer. So it's obvious there's no way they can stay on legally all night, and certainly not with full daytime power.

Special Permission, hey that's what the owner's daughter is telling everyone... and trust me, the FCC has been there.. several times.
