OK.. 25mi. NW of Nashville:

Channel numbers are physical, not virtual.

2 - nothing. Have received Virtual Channel Tables from two stations (KOTA & KNOP) via Es.
3 - nothing
4 - nothing, although I had a Canadian analog station via Es last week
5 - WTVF Nashville. 5.1 CBS, 5.2 Newschannel 5+ (local talk shows), 5.3 ThisTV. Simulcast on physical channel 50.
6 - WRTN-LP (analog) Alexandria, I think they were running Daystar last heard. Usually too weak to identify programming.
7 - WRTN-LD "Alexandria". (transmitter in Nashville) Actually, usually not available, too weak with 300 watts at 20 miles. Last seen, had four subchannels with Daystar and RTV on two of them.
8 - WNPT Nashville. 8.1 PBS, 8.2 PBS alternate schedule
9 - nothing. Have received WNIN Evansville, Indiana via tropo.
10 - WSMV Nashville. 4.1 NBC
11 - nothing
12 - nothing. Have received KTHV (Little Rock), KFVS (Cape Girardeau), and WNIN (Evansville, Indiana) via tropo, the latter before they moved to RF9 with the transition.
13 - nothing. Have received WBKO (Bowling Green) via tropo.
14 - WIIW-LP (analog) Nashville. Has run color bars for the last 12-18 months or so. Before that they aired the satellite receiver "no signal" message for a few years. Owned by Daystar.

Here’s what’s received in Poughkeepsie, NY. All digital, no analog.

2 - weak signal from low power WKOB New York City usually noted, very rarely it decodes. Recently, 42.1 & 42.2 Daystar, 42.3 RetroTV, 42.4 Tuff TV, 42.5 Wise Buy

3 - empty
4 - empty
5 - empty

6 - WRGB - Schenectady, NY 6.1 CBS, 6.2 this

7 - WABC New York City and WXXA Albany, NY usually knock each other out. Occasionally, one or the other will decode. WABC: 7.1 ABC, 7.2 & 7.3 Liv Well. WXXA: 23.1 Fox, 23.2 Cool TV

8 - WNJB New Brunswick, NJ 58.1 PBS “NJN-1”, 58.2 NJN-2

Mostly ATSC, few NTSC channels--

Analogue~

9 -
10 - KOPB ATSC
11 -
12 - KPTV ATSC
13 -
14 - K14HN (Camas; KPDX NTSC translator)
ATSC streams~
Code:
08-01 KGW main feed (widescreen)
08-02 KGW 24/7 Weather (so they tell us, anyways...)
08-03 Estrellas TV

10-01 KOPB widescren programme
10-02 KOPB main feed (or, analogue KOPB pre-2009)
10-03 OPB Plus (was PBS Create Channel, 24 hours 7 days)
10-04 OPB radio streams (was Oregon Channel before mid-2007 or mid-2008)

12-01 KPTV (widescreen)
OPB also supposedly transmits ancillary data services on its ATSC channel (probably through National Datacasting Inc.) but I currently don't have an ATSC board for my computer so I have no idea what's there. I imagine it's probably not much beyond the usual timecode and M$/Wavetop data.

[size=8pt]* This is actually someone's FTA satellite box in the nearby housing area, with an aerial connected to the output of its modulator. Most of the time it's set to Al Jazeera English. It's surprising that these machines can actually throw out a half-decent signal, considering it's a block and a half away! It's quite scratchy and the colour subcarrier's too weak to be received reliably at the flat, but it's there.

Ch 3 - 65.75 MHz - XHTJB Tijuana, BCN
Ch 6 - 87.75 MHz - XETV Tijuana, BCN

Both are analog, and are mostly usable signals with whip antennas extended, but disappear into the noise with the antennas stored.

Digital only here in Tampa Bay.

I'm in the city and sometimes I have trouble getting even our locals, like when there are storms in the area.

Pittsburgh pre-digital ...

2 - KDKA-TV, CBS owned and operated.
3 - no one locally, nearest outlets in Cleveland, Clearfield and northern Virginia. (This was DuMont's Channel 3 WDTV before Westinghouse [now CBS] bought it, moved it to Channel 2 and gave it the callsign of its AM 1020 radio station.)
4 - WTAE, Hearst-owned ABC affiliate.
5 - no one locally, nearest outlets in Cleveland, Weston WV and Washington DC.
6 - WJAC, Cox-owned NBC affiliate in Johnstown but in early days was regarded as a local station east of Pittsburgh.
7 - WTRF, West Virginia Media CBS affiliate in Wheeling WV.
8 - WWCP, Peak Media Fox affiliate in Johnstown.
9 - WTOV, Cox-owned NBC affiliate in Steubenville-Wheeling.
10 - no one locally, nearest outlets in Altoona and London (Ontario).
11 - WPXI, Cox-owned NBC affiliate.
12 - no one locally, nearest outlets in Clarksburg WV and Erie.
13 - WQED, PBS affiliate.

ALSO ...

16 - WQEX, WQED Pittsburgh, more recently a ShopNBC affiliate.
19 - WPCW, CBS-owned CW affiliate licensed to Jeannette.
22 - WPMY, Sinclair-owned MyTV affiliate.
40 - WPCB, Cornerstone TeleVision religious outlet licensed to Greensburg.
53 - WPGH, Sinclair-owned Fox affiliate.
59 - WBGN, low-power station.

Pittsburgh post-digital as monitored south and east of the city ...

2 - KDKA uses Channel 2 virtual ID and did have a nightlight signal on Channel 2 but now is on Channel 25.
3 - no one locally.
4 - WTAE uses virtual 4 ID and did have a nightlight signal on channel 4 but now is on digital 51 from Elizabeth Township (its main tower site) and digital 22 from Pittsburgh's Oakland section (translator for much of Pittsburgh and points northeast of the city).
WPMY is virtual 22, does not identify itself as such. It is digital 42.
5 - no one locally.
6 - no one locally. There is a construction permit for a low-power Channel 6 that may be used according to some reports as a Phantom FM but no signal is showing now.
WJAC (virtual 6) uses digital 34 which puts a signal in but it isn't watchable most of the time.
7 - WTRF uses digital 7 but no signal is detectable here.
8 - WWCP uses Channel 8 (it had been 29 pre-transition) which puts a signal in but isn't watchable here, though it is receptable a few miles northeast in the Kiski Valley.
9 - WTOV uses Channel 9 and puts in a signal but it isn't watchable.
10 - no one locally.
11 - WPCW is on digital Channel 11 but is virtual Channel 19. WPXI uses the Channel 11 logo and is virtual 11 but actually is on digital 48.
12 - no one locally.
13 - WQED was 38 pre-transition but moved back to its historic 13 position with a digital signal.

ALSO ...

Digital 16 - WBGN is virtual 59 in Pittsburgh (various other virtual/digital channels across the Tri-State area).
Virtual 16, Digital 38 - WINP, ION Media (former WQEX), still ShopNBC (at least for now).
Digital 43, Virtual 53 - WPGH.
Digital 50, Virtual 40 - WPCB.

Confusing, isn't it?

DuMont moved WDTV from 3 to 2 as part of the 1952 frequency shuffle in the northeast, clearing the way for WNBK Cleveland to move from 4 to 3. (And for WLWC Columbus to move from 3 to 4, etc.)

The WDTV sale to Westinghouse and call change to KDKA-TV didn't come until 1955.
