What ever happened to J Lightning?

I used to listen to Johnny Lightning and his 11L network comedy show on WBCQ, on Sunday nights. I had not listened for the past 2-3 years, due to the poor reception quality of WBCQ's signal on 7415. When I first came across J Lightning's program, it was unique and really funny. I also enjoyed listening to his stories about growing up in NYC in the '50s. Last year I read a posting in Glen Hauser's World of Radio about a dispute between J Lightning and Alan Weiner (owner/operator of WBCQ), which ended up with WBCQ dropping J L's show. I remember that J L had gotten sick and the show missed a few weeks, then there was a fire in the studio, destroying most, if not all of the production equipment. I think the posting said that WBCQ had been giving J L the timeslot free of charge, just to fill in the vacant slots in WBCQ's broadcast schedule, but was cancelled due to J L's inability to deliver the show on time. Does anyone know what really happened?
