What Ever Happened To : Jennine Graf ?

Anyone know what happened to Boston talk show host Jennine Graf? She was a semi regular fill-in and maybe had a regular gig on WRKO several years ago. She was also on one of the incarnations of the new WEZE when it became a "Christian" talk station...for a week.

Jennine was always fun to listen to although she tilted severely to the right. Nonetheless, she was interesting and had a great voice.

I think she is taking some time....

I think she got caught up the the so-called "fist-gate" controversy....and some of that took a toll on her....

Last I heard she was spending some time "disconnected" from email, internet, gossip and radio.

She is a talented and very nice lady.

What is "first-gate"?

The "Fist-gate" controversy is addressed in these articles from the conservative Mass News

http://www.massnews.com/past_issues/2001/feb%202001/febgraf.htm

and from the liberal Boston Phoenix

Kieth,

I am curious as to how she was involved in the Fist gate incident at the GLSEN forum at Tufts?

The last I heard about her she had developed a TV show for people trying to find employment. She was buying the time on a UHF station. It didn't last long.

She didn't make any friends at RKO when she called in on the air during one of Jerry Williams first shows during his new 9 to noon time slot. She blasted station mangement for moving Jerry in a very hostile tone.

While she was doing did fill ins at RKO she also had her own mid day show on 1150.

During the early days of Fox 25 she also hosted a Sunday night public affiars program.

How many years until she comes back? I find it hard to believe with 2 talk stations neither one is interested in her services.

Well, for that article from Massnews.com.....undertand the source is extreme right-wing nutcake Edward Pawlick. ...with zero credibility.

She was not "fired" for that reason. She was on the air well after the fistgate scandal was all over.

Only involved in her role as a talk host. I believe one of the right-wingers provided an audio tape to her and the station....and they aired some segments of the conference on the air.

I believe the left-wingers were not happy that she aired some private disucssions among gaylesbian youth that were secretly recorded in an environment where people expected their comments to be provate.

The right wingers wanted her to do their bidding for them...and continue to harp on this subject and continue to expose the fact that a conference for gay / lesbian youth took place.

There were court injunctions, and threats of lawsuits, etc.

She was indeed fired because of Fist-Gate. And Keith, say what you want about Ed Pawlick, but he was on the money with FistGate. MassNews went downhill after that as Ed got older. (he passed away a couple of months ago). I used to see Jeanine once or twice a week, and she is doing well, last time I saw her.

Nothing would make me happier to see her replace Majorie Egan on WTKK. From what I can tell, she is not anxious about getting back into broadcasting.

And your proof of this is what? (Oh, I forgot Massnews.....)

Knowing all the parties involved, including Jeanine, and her superiors at the time...I can tell you she was not "fired for Fistgate".

Well, all I'll say about the late Ed Pawlick is what most everyone knows....that he was an extreme right winger....that few took seriously. I take it you are one of the Ed Pawlick followers since you revere him.

As far as being "on the money" with fistgate....Pawlick simply expressed his opinions...which I assume you agree with. Thats not "on the money"...thats just his (and your?) opinion.

Gee, are you Ed Pawlick reincarnate? You seem to have memorized his entire dogma. Let me guess, you want Marjorie Egan replaced because you are a conservative and want Jeanine because she agrees with your politics?

I think your true colors are showing. You can't see too far beyond your partisan blinders.

All that said, Jeanine Graf is a wonderful and intelligent woman.

I will yield the point, since at the time, I didn't know any of the people involved except for Jeanine and Brian Camenker. Perhaps her ratings were dropping or something.

He used to buy a lot of time on WRKO, WTKK, WEZE and other stations with his commercials, and I have to admit, they were terrible. They made him sound somewhat imbalanced. On the content, he refused to listen to the producer at WEZE who covertly did the audio production as to what might come across as more persuasive-less angry. And it's not that I revere him, but I respect his accomplishments. He created Lawyers Weekly by himself, on a shoestring, raising his kids by himself simultaneously. He believed in his cause, and spent many millions of his own money, literally depleting his bank accounts, for that cause.

I know his "dogma" pretty well. I didn't agree with him all the time. In the relationship I had with him, I had to know his views. (and no, I was not his "gay lover"- the guy was straight!)

If by "true colors" you mean that I am likewise a "right-winger" than I guess I am guilty as charged. With the caveat that a "right winger" in massachusetts is "average-joe-moderate" in most other parts of the country.

I don't think partisanship are "blinders" in any sense of the word, as long as you know you are partisan. I think the frustrating thing is the partisan who insists that they, and only they, are somehow objective and unbiased. None of us live in vacuum.

Oh boy, I better watch out...because I post anonymously on message boards because I need strangers to affirm my credibility. :)
Brian's not a bad guy as a person. However, I can understand why the typical progressive in this day and age would think that he was a bit far out there.

Well, like your mother taught you.... "You are judged by the company you keep!"

If anyone has any doubts...look at:

BTW...Brian is a 'bit far out there" even for most Conservatives!
