What ever happened to the KQUE-FM music archives?

I have always wanted to know who is the care-taker of the KQUE-FM music library?

The individual station music libraries were digitized and placed on a Prophet System's data base. All nine stations that were there on 2000 west Loop South. After my shift hours were over I would sit in Swiftie's production room and play with the most incredible Juke Box you could ever imagine.

Former Clear Channel abused employee.

I was the Program Director of KQUE's sister station, KNUZ at one time. I filled in on KQUE from time-to-time. It was a great radio combo and I am still sad that it is a distant past of Houston radio history. As for the music library. As you may know, townhouses now occupy Caroline and Blodgett where the studios were originally built. I drove by during the demolition of the studios and did a walk-through. My heart sunk when I saw a nearby dumpster full of broadcast cartridges that contained the KQUE and KNUZ music library. I am not sure what happened to all of the vinyl. But, I heard much of it went to the sister stations in Beaumont. Since I know that a lot of songs we "borrowed" from collectors like Tom Goodell and carted, they are now in a landfill. Too bad. I had tried to get the owner of the station to digitize the library while I was there. But, CD recorders were still around $10k and blank disks were about $5 a pop. Mr. Morris did not want to invest in that..."till the prices came down." Which they dramatically did. But, the station never took the time to digitize. Too bad!
