You're new here Au-Vox, so let me say I could share your frustration in asking a question that goes unanswered. This board is quirky, to be generous about it. Anyway...

Bob Oliver...Gone a long time, probably mid-70s. Heart problems.

Newman and Maldon are lost on me, I don't know who they are, although Newman is ringing a vague and distant bell.

Tommy Woods...Woodsie is still around, still a nice guy, still has the pipes. I haven't seen him in several years and do hope he's well.

Paul Roberts...Given name Paul Rothfus. He and another Williamsporter, Kerby Confer, bought and sold radio stations in small markets across PA for years. Confer continues to be somewhat active in the biz, he was inducted into the PA PAB Hall of Fame not too long ago, I think. Rothfus, I have no idea whatever became of him.

Thanks so much for the info. Newman and Maldin were two of the original jocks at Warm. Don't know what happened to them. Sorry to hear about Oliver.

Thanks again

I also have had several questions unanswered or comments seemingly ignored here, so I will also add to your query. I didn't recognize Paul Roberts as Paul Rothfuss. So many radio names have blown by me for 30 years they sort of blend together! After successfully selling his stations and enjoying that for a while,Paul Rothfuss got back in the business owning stations in ( I think) Georgia. I got to know him for a few years recently when I was in an organization that he was a long time member of until I took a different position and had to give up my affiliation. He seemed to be very happy, doing quite well.Still with Williamsport roots and a home there if my memory serves me.

When I was At WEJL/WEZX In 1977 I Spoke With B.O. On The Phone ... He Dictated A Commercial

For One Of The Tuxedo Places( Sarno's Or Metallos's I Forget) To Me, That I Had To Transcribe And Then

Produce Myself. I was Nervous As Hell .. This Was One Of My Local Radio Idols!

But He Was Very Nice And Very Helpful To This Young Kid Who Was New in Radio.

I Don't Remember Ever Hearing Another Of His Commercials After That .... :(

A relative of Tommy Woods works for me; I just asked her and she says he lives on Prospect St here in WB and, as far as she knows, still works at 28.

Tommy hasn't worked for 28 since the early 90s(it could be late 80s). He may still do some voice work for them, but he's not an employee.

Thanks for all the info...I found out that Paul Roberts owns a few radio stations and that Tommy Woods is retired. Still doing voice work for a film producer in South Carolina and is working on a TV show on fly fishing that may end up on the Outdoor Channel or Verses.

Thanks for all you help.

To add to CRMC....Had drinks with Paul and his wife at the NAB last April; a really great guy. He most recently owned Sabrecom in Willamsport (WILQ) and retired from it a few years ago. He has a business helping radio owners find financing for radio purchases. He also works with a brokerage. He still loves radio and finds it hard to retire from the business. He still spends much of his summers here in NEPA at his Sullivan County summer home, he lives in Florida the rest of the year I believe. He has some really classic WARM stories and loves to talk of his time in NEPA and Williamsport.
