What ever happened to former BIG D 103 personality Frank Holler after he left 93 HYN-FM in Springfield?

Where did many of those local yokels from yesteryear go???? Semi-retirement? Driving a truck for Bob the Slob's Deals on Wheels? Or perhaps some hit the CT. Lottery and live on EZ street??  ;D ;D

Frank Holler's Jukebox Saturday Night ran circles around the show that's on DRC now. Frank is a very knowledgeable about solid gold rock and roll. He would interject little viniettes about artists and interesting tid bits about tunes.

For the last ten years all you get is.....RS "Hi who's this? Caller "Jackie" RS "Hi Jackie, where ya callin' from?" (J) Terryville. RS What do you wanna hear tonight? (J) "The Streak" by Ray Stevens. RS I'll see what I can do, Jackie, who plays the most moldie oldies? (J) DRC of course......They should rename the show The Saturday Night Snoozefest. ::) ::)

Let's take a look back at some of Video's posts over the last few months -

"G. Craig has got to have the biggest snoozefest on Hartford radio. Why couldn't they dump craig and crap during the week?
Larry Wells - he gets modest ratings and comes with a cheap price tag.
About WMRD Management - He couldn't give a rats a hole abouot the local community.
About Floyd Wright - These local yokel radio vagabonds like FW should know when to pack it in and call it a career. FYI, no one except your kind relatives are listening.
About WRCH - They are nauseatingly predictable! PERIOD!
Peter Bush - His parents are filthy wealthy and bank rolled most of his career.
KCI is a horrible excuse for a top40 station.
Ron Sedaille - They should rename the show The Saturday Night Snoozefest.
WAVZ is one big pile of turkey dump! No one listens to that 1 kw septic pump.
it's been garbage since 1992."

Are you drinking behind the keyboard when you make these posts? With all due respect Mr. Grove, the above people that you've harshly criticized are still on the air because they make money for their respective stations. You on the other hand are a bitter "has been" who needs to get on with his life.

Name dropping on people that post messages on a public board is not a cool thing. I believe the First Amendment does still apply.

Actually, it is a cool thing. It puts things into perspective to learn who's saying such nasty, bitter things about great, hardworking people on these posts. After all, in your radio career the only mark you managed to make is that people still associate your name with poor hygiene.

That's right, Video. Name dropping is NOT a cool thing. Like the real names that you "dropped" under another thread. The First Amendment does indeed apply, and I can tell many stories about you.....

i noticed a trend..

videokilledtheradiostar seems to attack long running/highly successful people or stations (with the exception of WAVZ)...... seems like he's jealous about something.

Both of you make good points. Point in case I tuned into G. Craig for a few minutes the other day. They're doing the same stuff on their show that they were doing 9 years ago when I was still in high school (been out since 2000). Good God. And KCI isn't as good of a station as it used to be. AVZ has been horrible since they dumpped the Standards Format. MRD doesn't care about the local community? Bull. They do numerous remotes from various events in Middlesex county throughout the year. Plus they still carry high school football.

It all evens out in the end.

That is a fact.

AVZ has been horrible since they dumpped the Standards Format.

Station hasn't shown up in a ratings book in more than ten years.

MRD doesn't care about the local community? Bull. They do numerous remotes from various events in Middlesex county throughout the year. Plus they still carry high school football.

They don't show up in a ratings book either. Correction! They showed up in Fall of 2003 with .1 LMFAO ::) The owner could care less about MRD or LIS. He has other business ventures that offset both stations financial losses.

Btw, they are local M-F 6-10a 12-1p 5p-6p. The rest is dished in. Hardly call that local radio. ;D

Since when do people in radio cut other people in the business slack? It's a competitive back stabbing sniping industry.

That is laughable! I make more money now and work less hours. Isn't that what life is about? Work less and make more?
If I remained in CT radio with all the corporate maneuvering over the fifteen years, I would be a homeless person. And that's not what living in America is all about.

I'll help another broadcaster long before I backstab them.

Ive helped a high school station and when a commercial broadcaster got knocked off the air, we helped them get back on.... I feel better about helping then tearing someone down.

It's the ugly nature of the business. What goes around comes around. Thought it only happened in major market radio.
