What exactly is in a PST Prize Pack?

I won a PST Prize Pack a couple weeks ago. Not because I wanted one but because Tommy & Shinn couldn't get the right answer and I couldn't deal with how long the bit was going.

I figure I have about fourteen more days to decide whether or not to drive up there and pick up whatever this thing turns out to be. Anyone have any idea what a PST Prize Pack typically consists of?

Probably a lot of 97.5 stuff they want to get rid of.

Really, it's sad that you won a "PST Prize Pack" and they didn't even tell you what's in it.

Chances are a PST t-shirt, a CD or two and/or a DVD.

Here's what you do. Call the station's promotions director. BE NICE. Say you want the prize mailed. BE NICE. Most stations don't normally mail prizes because it's the station's responsibility if the prize gets lost, but if you take the onus off the station, they MIGHT do it if you're NICE about it.

If I were you, I'd make the drive and take the prize. Then again, I only live 5 miles from the PST studio, but even if I lived in the 40 dBu contour, I would go all the way to pick up the prize. It's fun to visit a radio studio.<P ID="signature">______________

Most radio stations make you wait in the lobby and the Promotions Director hands off the prize to you. You don't get past the lobby doors into the actual office.

I've been in about six. The most impressive by far were Star 104.5 and New Jersey 101.5. The least impressive (also by far) was 92.1 WVLT. My favorite (of course, by far) was Boss 97 a hundred thousand years ago.

Even though they're all different...it's kinda like "ya seen one, ya seen 'em all." I don't expect WPST would impress me much... especially since they'd be containing me in the lobby the whole time!

The nicest studio I was ever in was WNEW's. One reason: Windows with the NYC skyline.

PST never turns down a tour request from a winner or even a passerby. In fact, there is a sign on the desk informing any visitor of that fact.

I wasn't implying PST didn't, and I apologize if you thought I did... I just thought you had to schedule your tours with PST in advance.

It is a place of business. We don't allow OR have the time to parade radio geeks thru the building. We are in business to make money. Not to impress you. Stop at one of our remotes sometime. I'll let you pet the van if your cool.
