Those were the days..... When meaningless songs were played on Top 40 AM, and deep. meaningful songs that rocked, were played on FM Rock stations.

Right on! I miss this.
But the format I miss the most is Smooth Jazz. Only because it is so easy to get through the lines and win prizes. I had almost every family member win that "Trip A Day" contest.
With this quote, I'm shocked I haven't seen more of "jazz blows because I said so" die-hards spark conversation about the lines always being open. Nevertheless, JAZZ is always a nice conversation piece![]()

5. MIX. Why does the MIX (any station) have to include "today". What's so wrong with the hits from the 70s? 80s? Nada. That was the zenith of radio. A couple of stations get it. Other skew much older. But what do I know, I have been told I f**t dust on this board. ;D

SeanRuadh said:I long for a progressive easy listening station. One that would play music that is interesting, but not jarring. One with processing that doesn't make it sound artificially bright. One with intelligent music selections, from folk, blues, jazz, classical, americana and other genre's. One that would cater to the highest common denominator rather than the lowest. I wish I could hear announcers who could speak intelligently about the music, explaining its significance without hyping me.
