What formats would you want on HD here?

It's understood that COUNTRY, OLDIES and DANCE CONTEMPORARY (read...CURRENT edgy dance music) are perhaps the top three in demand for NYC so you don't have to note these in your replies.

What OTHER formats would you like to hear on the HD radio spectrum? Classic Country? Big Band? Progressive Jazz (think WRVR years ago), Alternative Rock?, Caribbean? CCR?

1. Current Dance - thats obvious
2. Old School Hip Hop - would do good here.
3. Carribean - it is quite obvious there is an audience by all the pirates on air at the present moment.
4. Chill Out
5. World Music - its the melting pot of the world. have a station with specialty shows playing top 10s of various countries.
6. Alternative - Lower East Side needs a radio station..lol

There is a big interest in sports in the Latino community, especially those from Central American countries that don't get too much info about soccer, outside of bars and social clubs that have big screen TV's for it. For HD, it certainly can't hurt.

Its going to be quite awhile before GOOD programming will make it the these muliticasts. Since few people have the receivers and I mean Very Very Few people... These channels will be ran like a jukebox. I don't know if this is your idea of good radio but I prefer personality mixed with good content/imaging. I just don't see them spending money on that for a long time until HD takes off if at all.

So we shouldn't get our hopes up high. Sure, there could be a KTU 2 but it might be a lousy jukebox ran station because nobody is listening. Theres better content out right now so why wait for HD radio??

It might...there's a dearth of coverage on Jai-Alai and Bull Fighting.
