What going on at 11ALIVE with Ossmann/Hullinger/Hall???

According to Rodney Ho from AJC Paul Ossmann is out as main weather forecaster. Here the link.

Then Hullinger will be anchoring 10pm/11pm with Brenda Wood and Ted Hall will only anchor 6pm. Here the other link.

What going on at 11Alive? Me thinks they are slowly pushing Ted Hall out the door, but Ossmann shouldn't get the boot.. Anybody know what really going on behind the scenes?

We all knew it was only a matter of time before Hullinger would get the anchor desk on weeknights. I noticed when 11 Alive rolled out the Wiz thing, they only promoted it with Chesley. Paul nor Chris was in any of the promo spots.

I doubt it's a money matter at this point. Many cuts have been issued in the TV industry with revenues being down. It's a rough market out there for TV personalities and no one's wanting to go out and compete with so few positions open these days. It's not very desirable to move out of state for most people if they don't have to. There aren't any other large markets in Georgia outside of Atlanta. Though Walt Maciborski did move to the Tampa/St Pete market and on to Texas, which really surprised me. He was well liked. Weather on camera personnel are under a much tighter competition.

Hi guys - so I'm not living in Atlanta at the moment. I was wondering if any of these changes are actually panning out.

I used to live in the Little Rock area. Mike came online as the back up meteorologist 10 years ago, but he always seemed ahead of his peers and leadership in weather knowledge and on air delivery. That is why they continued to keep and promote him during the last 10 years at KARK. Good pick up for WXIA. Heard he did a great job covering the recent Arkansas Tornados back in May.

I hate to see Paul go. Channel 11's cost-cutting and terrible management has made their local news almost unwatchable. Now they're doing this "chains of love or hope or whatever" nonsense night after night that has NOTHING to do with the news. Just awful.

This is a mess.

KARK: Francis, your contract is up. Take a pay cut.
Francis: Oh yeah? Well WXIA wants me BAD! You should be glad I don't want even more cash because I can GO there and get more! So pay up!
KARK: We're announcing WXIA grabs new chief meteorologist! Our guy Francis! We are SO proud of him! Good luck!
Francis: oops, er, um... did I say I was leaving? gulp
Ossmann: WTH WXIA? Thanks for the love.
Chesley: Missed it by that much. Dang.
Lawyer: Hey now, KARK. You can't NOT offer to pay more! That is not an option here. You have to counter-offer!
KARK: No we don't. Good luck in ATL! See ya!
WXIA: Our price just went down too. After all you're effectively unemployed now, Mr. Francis. You need a job. Won't you work for less? Sure you will.

Ossmann gets kicked to the curb by a station who wanted him gone anyway. No shock there.

Meanwhile Francis played poker and got his bluff called and his rear kicked by two stations at once. Nicely done Mr. Francis.
