What happened at WPHB?

I agree. Back in the day Joe was fond of saying, "any PORT in a storm" and make sure you add "elli" when you say it. He also liked to say the "P" is for PENNSYLVANIA. And talk about an engineer who could understand directional systems and tower phase...he's the best!

Never witnessed any of the work of portabello, but when you start stacking up the talents of engineers, pound for pound Terry Malarkey who kept that old RCA transmitter at WFBG humming, and his son Jeff McIlhiney who keeps 9-1-1 centers across the region dispatching. The great one John Super of WVAM/WPRR is another Hall of Fame engineer. I think Matt Lightner carries the tradition of great engineers into the future. This is not to take anything away potelli, but these are some of the greats.

Can't forget Gary Magill, Bob Lynn, and John Powley

Oh yeah, John Powley ran a first class television/radio station(s) operation. And it was state of the art also except when the winds blew down his rooftop antenna on which he was receiving ABC.

LOL!
I always liked when his wife started the washer, it would take the transmitter off air.

Sounds like that Powley character could have used the services of Satellite Man and the MayTag repairman.

uh..that should read "action"...not acting. I'm trying to get the bird ready and wasn't concentrating. Satelite Man is coming over to my house for Thanksgiving.

What happened at WPHB? The lawyer says it wasn't the engineer's fault! Now we can all rest easy...attorney's always know best!

Portelli used to say that "there is no such thing as a small market, only small minded markets". He used that along with several other gems.
