Western Mass. What happened to 106.3 Smooth FM WEIB in Northampton, MA

For the past couple of weeks, The radio station in Northampton known as 106.3 Smooth FM has been dark in the area. I'm wondering if that station has gone out of business?

I’m not within their listening area but it appears their website is gone.
Website is still up, but the live audio is just random white noise. I'm looking at various news sources (non-paywalled) around that area and not a peep about the station on any of them. Were I still in Connecticut, it would only be a 40-45-mile drive for me to be in reception range, but I'm about 100 miles north of Northampton now that I'm in Vermont, so won't be wasting nearly four hours of my day driving down and back just to see if a radio station is still broadcasting.

The following listener comment appears on the station's Facebook page:
WEIB 106.3 Smooth FM tye stream is still down; kindly address this issue. Thank you.

I can't imagine WEIB's outage is related to its CP application (filed a month ago).

They have been back on the air since October 16.

WEIB's facebook page posted a few days that a announcement is coming June 30. Won't surprised if they make a format change (maybe Urban AC) based on how long they been working on moving studios and/or a sale.

WEIB was one of the last commercial stations playing Smooth Jazz. When I heard it a few years ago, it seemed to be a 50/50 mix of soft contemporary jazz instrumentals and Urban AC crossover vocals, Sade, Luther Vandross, Anita Baker, etc.

But I wouldn't see the station switching to Urban AC. That region of New England does not have many African American residents who might welcome an Urban AC.

And if the station is sold, the odds favor the buyer being a religious broadcaster, in which case the demographics won't matter in the choice of format.

The station's facebook page includes a couple of videos that discuss a relocation:

Furthermore, according to FCCdata.org, the station has construction permits for eight new on-channel boosters within WEIB's 60 dBμ service contour.

As an interesting side note, Carol Moore Cutting, CEO, president, and owner of WEIB, was inducted into the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame this year.
