What happened to 96 Wave?

I remember living down there and they had a big signal at 96.1 and was a very iconic station. Did they move or just vaporized?

They moved to 101.7 when WMGL moved from 101.7 to 107.3 after the station on 107.5 moved to the Columbia market. To do that they needed WKZQ in Myrtle Beach to change frequencies so WKZQ downgraded its signal and took the 96.1 frequency. WWBD 95.9 moved into Charleston.

As for the Wave format I heard it was online somewhere, but the actual station that was The Wave decided to be Chuck and play "everything".

96Wave never made it to 101.7. 96.1 was Chuck FM for a while until the move to 101.7.
