WHAT HAPPENED TO ABC'S BROADCAST OF THE U.T. GAME???

It was suspended because of lightning in the area. The stadium was cleared and the network basically vamped for an hour and a half from New York. Then the game resumed but ABC kept saying they were having "transmission problems". Anyone know what happened? They never got it back on the air.

Yes one team won, another lost.but hey HOW ABOUT THEM IRISH!!!!

My guess is they had too much weather in the immediate vicinity of their satellite path. If they were aiming south or southeast, they'd have had trouble punching through, since a vast majority of satellites are in geosynchronous orbit above the equator. The line of storms that night didn't clear out until well after 10pm.

But it's just a guess. ;)
