What happened to Bob Mitchell of KCKC?

I found an old box of airchecks. ...listening to them through the aux input on an awsome classic radio given to me by my old boss Bob Mitchell of KCKC, I found the last six hours of the station as a country outlet...and I started missin' Bob. Does anyone know what became of him? Lacey Kendall
 
I know at one point Bob Mitchell was back on the big 1350, as The Toad, sometime in 2002-2003.

Now I have heard, and I hope I am wrong on this information, that Bob Mitchell passed on sometime last year. :-\
