What Happened to Brett Wiggum

Does anyone know what happened to Brett Wiggum, I think that's how you spell his name? He was a news and sports guy at SAM in Greensburg for awhile and did a great job with their high school sports. He was one of those young, new talents I was hoping would get a shot in Pittsburgh but I can't find him now. Is he in another market or out of radio? Anyone know who I'm talking about??

I thought he was really good too. I think Hank Baughman took his job in Greensburg and then I don't know what happened to him. I think his name is Brent Whigham though.

I can't resist the temptation to speculate that we have heard from Mr. Brent or a close personal friend of his already within this thread....

My name is Christopher Vanasdalan. I worked with Brett shortly at Metro a few years back. I wouldn't say I'm his friend, I just wanted to know if the guy is still around. Sorry for asking.

You also probably need not think Brent disappeared just because (or even primarily because) of his on-air efforts.
Hank Baughman lives in Westmoreland County, Renda apparently needed to consolidate some costs, and now Hank does the news from WHJB as well as for Pittsburgh Renda outlets WJAS and WSHH.
Sort of interesting, if you think about it, that WHJB serves as sort of a bridge between the Pittsburgh Renda stations and Renda's St. Pier Group out of Indiana.
WHJB's management is linked to St. Pier and it has at least one simulcast with the Indiana stations, an oldies show also run Saturdays on WDAD.

I worked with Brett very briefly at the Renda cluster in Indiana.

From what he tells me, Brett is fed up with radio and was seeking a position outside the industry. I can't say I terribly blame him for that, though.

Hank still lives in the Greensburg area and with today's technology, he can do the news for both the Greensburg and Pittsburgh stations with ease. Whether he does that on or off site is anyone's guess. The woman who's hosting the morning show on HJB was a former employee under Mel Goldberg's ownership, I'm told, but it was no one I had ever heard of.

Brent is working for an education company and is fed up with the business. You would be too if you had to deal with his last two employers.
