What happened to Channel 8 WWMT (off topic)

I can't receive channel 8 from Grand Rapids anymore although I can still get channel 3. They both have similar contours and they are on adjacent RF channels. What might have happened? Do you have any ideas? I am located near White Pigeon.

I sent them a message but there was no response to my inquiry. Now I am starting to wonder if it might be some sort of interference locally. With DTV, you have no idea what the cause might be since the signal is just there or it isn't.

Sorry to post this in the radio board but there is no TV board for Michigan!

First, I apologize for putting the wrong call letters in the subject-- I really did mean Channel 8 but the call letters should be WOOD-TV. I get mixed up because they changed it for a while.

Anyway... Channel 8 now actually uses RF channel 7, and Channel 3 uses RF channel 8 (is that confusing or what)? I get Channel 3 OK most of the time, but I can't receive Channel 8 at all any more.

I think I figured out the problem. They just put a new 15 kW FM station on the air only a few miles to the north of me, WGNC (God and Country). I think the second harmonic is wiping out Channel 7. I know because once, I had to build a filter for a local educational FM that wiped out channel 7 in the school neighborhood. I think I will need to add a filter to my TV preamp. I have a very high gain low noise Winegard preamp at the antenna because all of the signals in the area are very weak. This is a problem because the preamp is being used to amplify both UHF and VHF stations so the filter needs to have low loss at frequencies other than the notch frequency.

Incidentally, I gave a listen to this new station and it is a hideous format. I can't imagine they have many listeners.
