What happened to good mixshows on radio

I went to Houston this past weekend, and listened to a few stations there. 97.9 The Box was a disappointment. I heard one two-hour mixshow on Saturday night and that was it. Majic 102.1 sounded way better than 97.9. They had a two-hour mixshow on Friday night, and a four-hour mixshow on Saturday night. Even 93.7 The Beat was sounding better.
the beat and magic are tight the box mixshow is terrible.
Was in Milwaukee for game I listen to jammin 98.3 mixshow cool they gpt Tony Neal doin the mix at 5 also listen 100,7 mixshow was wack not fan of Louie vee
There is the Dedicated Hip Hop mix show boardcasting on WNUR a suburb of chicago Mondays 12am to 5am
