what happened to graffiti radio

Since they lost their over the air signal and just used the internet with another set of calls I have been listening and they have been sounding better. Today when I went to the site it switched over to sacred heart radio and there is no other way to listen to Graffiti Radio, I guess they are gone for good...

I really miss the Wolfman Jack Graffiti Gold stream too here in Maryland.

KMPH has finally sold that station. Things do not look good for Mr. Harry Pappas

I have to agree with you.

My own concern may be out of topic but it is related to an asset still being connected to an connection with Harry Pappas and his Pappas Telecasting.

My biggest concern, fear, and worry with one of Pappas biggest assets myself the most is NTV(KHGI/KWNB)(Nebraska Television Network)/KFXL Fox Nebraska out of Axtell, Nebraska within the Kearney, Nebraska area. NTV's address is 1078 25th Road Axtell, Nebraska 68924

I'm not very happy with Harry Pappas dog fights and fist fights with receivership trustee David Stapleton in both the Washoe County Court in Reno, Nevada and the Delaware Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, Delaware. The dog fights and fist fights could lead to the possibly of the worst case scenorio of NTV and KFXL going off the air and going dark permanently maybe next year in 2015, 2016, or even by at the start of January 2017 is when the Pappas Liquidating Trust ends and expires at that time.

Stapleton has a restraining order against Pappas in the Washoe County Court in Reno, Nevada:

Pappas is fighting the losing battle with Stapleton in the Delaware Bankruptcy Court in Willington, Delaware:

Here is information about Harry Pappas side business:

Pappas Finest Olive Oil
823 West Center Ave.
Visalia, CA 93291
Telephone: 559.733.7800
Fax: 559.733.7878

Pappas Finest Olive Oil is available for people wanted to taste olive oil from the Greeks from their native country of Greece.

Ironically both Pappas Telecasting and Pappas Finest Olive Oil are really both based in the same building and location as I have research the location of the headquarters through Google Maps.

Being hardnosed and stubborn led to Harry Pappas and his Pappas Telecasting having all these years to give NTV and KSNB/KTVG(now KFXL Fox Nebraska) the chance to be very competitive but no because Pappas let those stations run with real thin resources at the same time being very too busy with the Azteca America venture that truly crashed and burned with the attempt of in house spanish language network called TuVision crashing and burning as well and attempts with KMPH 840 AM in Modesto and KTRB 860 AM in San Francisco with KTRB picking up the radio broadcasting rights to the Oakland Athletics baseball games for a 10 year contract deal from 2010 to 2019 and attempting to build out multiple towers for KTRB to transmit their radio broadcasts including an area where a tower needs propane fuel to power up the tower due to location of the tower site also crashed and burned with KMPH 840 AM radio going off the air, but later went back on the air before selling to the catholic radio network Immaculate Heart Radio to broadcast catholic oriented radio broadcasts in the Modesto area in July 2014 and KTRB went into receivership by Comerica Bank with Susan L. Uecker as the receivership trustee for KTRB 860 AM radio with radio broadcasts of Oakland Athletics getting picked up by 95.7 FM now known as KGMZ FM, but later to get entered into a local marketing agreement with Deportes Media to broadcast ESPN Deportes radio programming all getting the highest priority over trying to improve the quality of NTV and KFXL to go to full HDTV when KSNB and KTVG went off the air and went dark permanently due to Harry Pappas and his Pappas Telecasting various missteps, mistakes, and misfortunes affecting Harry Papas and his Pappas telecasting all at the same time while being in the bankruptcy reorganization process.

Have a feeling there could be up to 8 broadcasters possibly wanting to acquire NTV/KFXL: Sinclair Broadcast Group, Brian W Brady/Northwest Broadcasting, Mark Nalbone/Wyomedia, Cordillera Communications TV, Nexstar Broadcasting Group, William Pollack/Pollack/Belz Broadcasting, Bob Prather/Heartland Media, and KLKN with owner-parent Philip Lombardo/Citadel Communications LLC with the possibly of Harry Pappas preferring to sell NTV/KFXL to either Sinclair Broadcast Group, Brian W Brady/Northwest Broadcasting, Mark Nalbone/Wyomedia, or Cordillera Communications TV with Sinclair Broadcast Group mainly to reunite NTV/KFXL with KMPH/KFRE, KDBC, KPTM/KXVO, and KPTH/KMEG and Brian W Brady/Northwest Broadcasting to reunite with KSWT as the contenders and front runners to be one of the winning bidders of NTV/KFXL over the objections of David Stapleton in selling NTV/KFXL with Stapleton likely preferring to allow KLKN with owner-parent Philip Lombardo/Citadel Communications LLC or Perry Sook/Nexstar who is trying to acquire KCWI to acquire NTV/KFXL while Pappas preferring to sell NTV/KFXL to one of the broadcasters who owns and operate a station in the same TV DMA where NTV/KFXL competitor 10/11 and NBC Nebraska owner-parent Gray Television has TV stations there as well.

Sinclair overlaps with Gray in Reno, NV; Colorado Springs, CO; Wichita, KS; Omaha, NE; Madison, WI; Lexington, KY; Flint, MI; Toledo, OH; Charleston, WV; Albany, GA; and Tallahassee, FL

Brian W Brady overlap with Gray in Laredo, TX

Mark Nalbone/Wyomedia overlaps with Gray in Casper and Cheyenne, Wyoming

Cordillera overlaps with Gray in Great Falls and Helena, Montana; Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Lexington, Kentucky

Nexstar overlaps with Gray in Grand Junction, CO; Waco/Bryan/College Station, TX; Monroe, LA; Alexandra, LA; Eau Claire/La Crosse, WI; Rockford, IL; Dothan, AL; and Panana City, FL

William Pollack/Pollack/Belz overlaps with Gray in Alexandra, Louisiana and owns Kearney 8 and Hilltop 4 movie theatre cinemas in Kearney, Nebraska where NTV flapship station KHGI is licensed with Gray 10/11 satellite station KGIN is licensed to Grand Island and also serves Hastings and Kearney with NBC Nebraska serving the Hastings area.

NTV ability to serve viewers with their own heart and soul would be greatly at the greatest risk if NTV's owner-parent would ever instruct, force, and order the receiver to sell NTV/KFXL to end up being bought out by either Sinclair, Brian W Brady, Mark Nalbone, or Cordillera as the broadcasters I feared the most that NTV's owner-parent would rather prefer to sell NTV to one of them as the winning bidder to become NTV/KFXL new owner-parent.

If Pappas were to allow Sinclair Broadcast Group, Brian W Brady through Northwest Broadcasting, or Mark Nalbone through Wyomedia to acquire NTV, NTV would be affected from slash and burn cutbacks as well if Pappas were to sell NTV to one of those broadcasters I have always feared that Pappas would rather sell NTV to gamble and self destruct NTV's future in a big bad ugly game of Russian Roulette as a way for Pappas to sell NTV to the winning broadcaster acquiring NTV by harming NTV ability to continue to survive to stay on the air.

So there!! Mendotatech, see what ya started? Are you happy now? LOL you got jamesjim ALL upset- shame shame

Medotatech, I applaud you for opinions about Harry Pappas.

Honesty, I'm very really ashamed with Harry Pappas for the way he treated receivership trustee David Stapleton in both nasty court battles with Pappas being involved in a court battle at the Washoe County Court in Reno Nevada where Stapleton has a restraining order against Pappas and in the Delaware Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, Delware including recently fighting with Stapleton in an attempt to block the sale of KCWI to Nexstar because Pappas claims KCWI could do better in the spectrum auction because it would offer more money by selling KCWI and KDMI spectrum in the auction for $26 million than selling KCWI to Nexstar for $3.5 million.

Medotatech, I'm not a bad person but I'm still a person who is still concerned about the overall future of NTV/KFXL in my home state of Nebraska. I'm still fighting to see that NTV is still on the air for more years to come and finally get out of their 2nd receivership with the history of NTV being in receivership the first time under Gordon Broadcasting after the failed attempt to sell NTV to Sterling fell through in 1989 with Joseph Amaturo as the receivership trustee and Joseph Gilard became the successor in 1991 and Fant Broadcasting buying NTV out from receivership in 1993 and NTV being in receivership for the second time under Harry Pappas and his Pappas Telecasting in 2012 with Lee W Shubert as the receivership trustee and David Stapleton became the successor in 2013.

I actually did my own research about NTV being under Harry Pappas and his Pappas Telecasting.

No bells but I can Google- BTW, Is that 94.7 on the air?? or

94.7 was inspected last week being on the air. FCC was impressed by the recent logging and work towards finally being compliant. Only stuff missing was an ownership report, a underwritten spot believed to be a commercial, CAP (though EAS is logging just fine), and some other minor things...

Harry Pappas used to have KMPH tv and KGEN inTulare

Pappas was better operating various CW and FOX stations Pappas operated than Pappas operating very marginalized TV stations including Azteca America stations: KAZA, KTNC, KAZH, and KAZR with KTNC, KAZH, and KAZR later part of Pappas own spanish language network called TuVision, very weak poor performing full power stations including KSWT, WMMF(later as WWAZ and now WIWN), WLGA, very weak low power TV stations, and radio stations KMPH 840 AM and KTRB 860 AM.

I'm way more familiar with KPTM as one of the 4 big crown jewels TV stations Harry Pappas founded with KMPH in 1971, WHNS in 1984, KPTM in 1986, and familiar with KPTH in 1999.

Meredith now owns WHNS. Pappas lost KMPH/KFRE, KDBC, KPTM/KXVO, and KPTH/KMEG as well as KREN/KAZR, KCWK, WCWG, KTNC with KUNO, and KAZH in the original bankruptcy filing with KCWK going off the air going dark permanently, KREN/KAZR being bought by EntraVision with KAZR being known today as KRNS, and Titan took over management of operating KMPH/KFRE, KDBC, KPTM/KXVO, KPTH/KMEG, WCWG, KTNC with KUNO, and KAZH. Titan would later sell off KUNO to Jeff Chang and is now known as KQSL, KTNC and KAZH turned KUBE got taken over by NRJ but with Titan still managing operations of those stations, sell off WCWG to Lockwood, and KMPH/KFRE, KDBC, KPTM/KXVO, KPTH/KMEG being sold off to Sinclair with KDBC in a duopoly with KFOX. KSNB is owned by Gray Television in a duopoly with KOLN/KGIN and as the successor station to KHAS as the official station for NBC Nebraska. KSWT is owned by Blackhawk Broadcasting in a duopoly with KYMA as a subsidiary of Northwest Broadcasting under Brian W Brady operational control. WIWN is owned by Caballero.

BTW, the audio stream of Graffiti Radio is found over the web at:

The Wolfman Jack station listening are referring to can be found over the web at:

To clarify, Classic 1260 KYA Oldies (kyaradio.com) is a joint venture that I produce with Gary Mora under the auspices of the Bay Area Radio Museum & Hall of Fame.

The XERB Radio tribute website noted here is my own personal production.

I didn't make it through the long monologue about Harry Pappas and the aftermath of the bankruptcy. Having known Mr. Pappas for some time, I can only attest to the fact that he's one of the very best people I've ever had the privilege to work with -- in any industry -- and that I'm honored to know him as a friend.

The Graffiti Gold format died on KMPH (840 AM) in Modesto on August 7, 2014, once the ace IHR engineers arrived. They had planned to have a look around, assess the situation, and make plans for the transition. It only took them a few minutes to hook up a line to the IHR mothership and go live.

I kept Graffiti Gold going online through September 2014, when my personal contract with Wolfman Jack Licensing expired.
