What happened to Hugh Hewitt on KRLA??

Anyone have the 'inside' on why his program was moved to the 3:00 am to 6:00 am slot (with a partial broadcast from 10:00 pm to 12:00), with his previous slot now being filled by Larry Elder (whose previous slot is being filled by Jay Sekulow (yikes)??? Was it all about ratings, or his move to D.C.?

A couple of months ago Bill Bennett retired from doing the Salem national morning show.
Hewitt moved to Washington, D.C. (suburban Virginia actually) and has taken over the morning slot.
Larry Elder was hired to fill his former evening slot. Since Hewitt is also now getting gigs on CNN
and Meet the Press the location likely works much better for him.

You haven't watched in a while. Hewitt was "fired" from CNN after an on-air spat with Don Lemon.. He now wallows on MSNBC. I think of the move to 6am on the east coast as a demotion. Half his audience disappeared

The Salem stations in NY,LA and Chicago have their own local morning shows. I would imagine there are other markets, too, so Hugh is not aired in New York or C
hicago and is aired Pacific time 3AM in LA. Most of Salem;s talk affiliates run the entire schedule,so Hugh is on those stations, including the new outlet in San Francisco.
