What happened to Jeff?

This could be a problem with the local station. I was concerned, though, because the local college has bought the station and students will work there for course credit. But there were no DJs, though the music was remakably similar to what would be played if Jeff was on. The local morning show is quite different, and when something goes wrong with the satellite or they are switching to a local sports event or something, the music mix also gets changed.

The man who runs the station (he still will when the students are working there, though he no longer owns it) was not doing the morning show, but the man who does the news was. I went out for a walk and Sinatra's "You Make Me Feel So Young" was playing when I got back. After a couple of songs they went straight to a commercial break. No Jeff! There were only a few commercials, then more songs, but more songs than the usual number between breaks. The music was normal, though, but not as many true "standards" played as usual (this can happen since even the satellite format will vary the mix). This went on until almost time for the news., One song stopped in the middle and there were noises as if the satellite had quit, and another song started. There was a commercial break. I forget now whether a song played before the news, but the news started as usual. I didn't look to see if it started on time, but WBRF in Galax, VA starts the news whenever the song finishes and it sounds like it's live. i don't think this station has that capability.

After the news, a song played and WHAT A RELIEF! It was Jeff. I had heard him on Saturday and had no reason to think anything was going on. "Wayne" was on when the clock radio came on for Mike Huckabee in the afternoon (of course Mr. Huckabee, who returned from vacation today, does not do a Saturday show at 3).

I didn't call the station to ask about this, but does this sound like something is going on that we should know about?

I thought this was a hint of what was going on this morning. The clock radio came on for Mike Huckabee. Carl Hampton identified the song as "You'll Be in My Heart" by Phil Collins but didn't say anything about any technical problems. But it was only during the song that the sound kept going out (as it did during one song this morning), and during 'You Showed Me" everything was fine. Too bad Jeff Rollins wasn't there to comment on his alma mater's Terrapins, who are turtles.

My first thought was the radio station was having trouble with the satellite, but then why did it clear up when the next song was played?

He was back at 9 as usual this morning.

The regular morning DJ, who runs the station, is not, and I don't know why not. I guess if he's in charge he can take as much vacation as he wants, and he did have some serious surgery last year.
