What happened to KAHL 105.9?

I used to get it pretty well on the Northwest side with a portable radio in, say, 2005 when it was classic rock (KMFR)...
However for at least 10 years I haven't picked it up, despite it being 6000 watts. Did they move away from San Antonio since 15 years ago?

I bet you anything they've been operating at low power for 10 years. Doesn't the FCC require modifications if stations operate at low power for longer than a short period of time?

I continue to hear KAHL on 105.9 just fine here in NW San Antonio near UTSA.

Where in good heavens gravy do you get off on making uneducated unscientific accusations like that? You pull these loony ideas with no basis in reality out of thin air with zero proof of what you say and it gets old after awhile.

Your assumption is without proof. Anything can happen to impede coverage in "Northwest", such as power line construction on the horizon to the site, a tall building, a grain elevator, a cellular tower, the renting of their own tower for mobile services changing the pattern a bit.

If you are in northwestern Bexar County, you are below the 50 dbu contour area, and there is no expectation of service.

Don't blame the station for something that is most likely out of their control and well beyond the protected coverage area.

You can look at historical filing at REC Networks | a leading advocate for a diverse dial. so you, all by yourself, can see the history of each stations applications and modifications.

Maybe that's it's translator, K290BO. I remember when 103.7 and 105.9 were KMFR, their 105.9 signal came in pretty clear. A couple years ago the translator was off for a short amount of time, and 105.9 KAHL-FM from Hondo couldn't be received. LOL but I don't really care, not my problem.
