What happened to KTU

Wow this station has really gone downhill. All the played out classic dance stuff all the time. Its like they got their powerhits (Freemason,The Mariah Carey dance remix,Kellys remix) mixed in with the other older titles of the year (Lucas Prata,J. Peters,Reina) and very few new songs (Cascada,Milky). The spins are lower than last year. Everything mixed in with the played out Disco and Freestyle music. Their not even digging deep with those songs either! Then you got usual The R&B fluff they always feel to the need to play.

KTU has never been great at new music but basically the currents have fewer spins these days because the old songs are getting more play than the currents. These old songs are the same tired ones, played day after day.

Does NY really need THAT much oldies on the radio. Geesh. These people have no brain!

They most likely looked at the Arbs and noticed how 'NEW keeps going up in the numbers. When I spoke to the Daily News a couple of weeks ago, they also had a talk with Jeff Z (PD) where basically he said that new dance music is harder to come by. Believe me, this time around I am not even going to pump the issue...I'm not going to diss 'KTU again, from me it gets played out anyway :(

So instead of offering suggestions of songs 'KTU should get on, let's instead call it songs 'KTU will never consider until someone does a "2" on HD (and I am not suggesting 'KTU for that...I would rather Emmis offer a "2" for current dance on the Hot 97 frequency - 97.1)

Dancin (The JJ Flores/Steve Smooth Remix) -Aaron Smith

Little Love - Alex Gaudino

Mesmerized (Freemasons Remix) - Faith Evans (just to prove that an R&B artist CAN have a slamming dance remix)

I Need Somebody - Sessomatto

Up & Down - Scent

Raindrops - Stunt

I Like Girls - Hound Dogs (spells MAINSTREAM all over!)

Take Me Away - Stonebridge

Shine - The Lovefreeks

Getting back to the two dance oldies...you just KNOW what's going to happen. And it would not surprise me one bit if 'KTU ends up being the one that takes the fall for it.

The one question, would 'KTU go down BEFORE or AFTER their 10th anniversary (February 10, 2006)
