What happened to Lafayette

We were all yappin about alfayette and now no one is talking about it anymore?

Who is we all were it looks from the numbers that this is the first time youve made or responded to a string so I dont exactly know were youre coming from on that one. maybe lafayette radio is all talked out by these points. You know that could be true!

The only small blip of radio news was across the river. Saturday during the closing minutes of the Purdue-Miami football game, play-by-play announcer Joe McConnell suddenly dissapeared from the airwaves and was quickly replaced by Pre & Post Game anchor Tim Newton (who by the way sounded great). McConnell then returned at games end with Newton giving him praise for doing such a fine job while feeling under the weather. It was such an odd situation that I and others I have now spoken to thought that McConnell might have fainted while on the air. If anyone knows more, please post!

Then, following the game... Post-Game host Tim Newton asked Senior Defensive End Anthony Spencer about his thoughts on the Boilermakers overtime victory against Miami. Spencer excitingly replied, "...we worked hard all f*ckin' summer for situations just like this..." Immediately after the interview, Newton apologized for Anthony's extra bit of enthusiasm.

Other than that... no other news in the Lafayette area.

On the Joe Tiller Show today, Tim Newton said that Joe McConnell was having problems with his diabetes, and needed to adjust his insulin.

People can only talk about Artistic Media Partners so much on this board. Until something else happens (more firings, format changes, etc.), things will probably remain quiet.

On another topic, I hope Joe is doing better. He's a great play-by-play guy and wish him the best!

Isn't WAZY needing a morning show...thought that guy left....does WAZY have a PD yet?

Yep..........cant' remember his name, though. Refer to the AMP post for the info. ;)

Good luck to him. Hopefully, he won't be the next one to have his torch extinguished.

It seems like they can't keep on air staff around there for anything. The only person with somewhat of a tenure is, of all people, Stephanie, the most horrendous and yet the luckiest talent one of the bunch. I wonder why?

Hehehe, I knew it couldnt last. There are some people out there that cant stay away from AMP. You would think that Lafayette was the only city in Indiana with raydeeeeoooo.

Artistic seems to be a sore spot with so many people here. If someone ever had doubts about working there, all they'd have to do is come to the Indiana board and get all the horror stories they want.

and for me...that is the point.

I've seen so many people go into an AMP situation....and be completely unhappy about it.
