What happened to my channels?

I live in the middle of Manhattan, and had great reception to a ton of channels. It seems overnight I've suddenly lost most of those. What happened? 2.1, 4.1, 4.4, 7.1 all gone. 4.4 gets a 5% signal max, whereas a few days ago it was always around 90%. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is this on my end or on the broadcasting end?

I heard they're on a backup antenna with poor coverage in certain directions while they work on the main antenna.

The DTV channels are often going off air or broadcasting from low-powered backup facilities. It seems there's a lot of testing being done on the main facilities leading up to the switchover in February.

Some of the stations are also not operating at full-power at all yet, it seems. These include 13, 21, 47 and probably 41 which all seem to be weaker than the other stations at all times.

I have also had the same problem. I live in upper Manhattan and used to receive more than 30 channels OTA, mostly HD. The reception was beautiful and impressive. Suddenly, in the last couple of weeks, many of them don't come in at all or are very difficult and fussy to tune in. WNBC won't come in at all. It is so frustrating. Any ideas or explanations?

Again, it's probably just antenna work taking place at Empire and stations either going off air temporarily or from lower-powered backup sites.

Conversely, I've noticed that 13's signal seems to be stronger in recent days from where I am viewing in Central Queens.

Is anyone else still having trouble with WNBC-DT. I still receive no digital signal. I can receive the analog version with somewhat fuzzy reception but, up until about 2 weeks ago, my reception of the HD version was great. I am receive the other channels that broadcast from the Empire State Building (like WABC and WNYW) just fine. Help!!
