What happened to Phil hendrie on ktlk

I tuned into Phil hendrie tonight at 10 and they had a NBC sports show on. The host welcomed the ktlk listeners so I assume this is not going to be a one time thing.

Damn I was enjoying the lighthearted Phil show before bedtime

I hate radio programmers.

Re: What happened to Phil Hendrie on KTLK

Although not listed on their affiliates page, I guess that KTLK will be the L.A. home of at least some of NBC Sports Radio programming. Hopefully Phil was just off for the evening or had to take off with short notice, so KTLK just plugged in the show.
(Phil was still listed as tonight's host on the station website.)

I guess you could say that it could also somewhat complement their coverage of the 2011-2012 Stanley Cup Champion L.A. Kings.
Thanks to Gary Bettman, et al. they finally get to raise the championship banner @ Staples Center on Saturday 1/19/13 at 12 Noon PT on NBC (vs. Chicago Blackhawks). Go Kings Go!! ;D

Oh so you were the guy listening to the station at that hour? ha ha ha

Yes indeed, but please tell me what my other viable options were. Listening to a guy talking about space aliens and out of body experiences, redneck truckers talking about the President taking away their precious guns. Need I say more.

I think I made the right choice with Phil. But now that he's gone from KTLK I had to pull out the ipad and listen from one of his other affiliates. The new sports guy on KTLK seemed too amped up at that time of the day.

Mister westfield, to cheer you up I'd like to invite you to join me, Vernon Dozier, Margaret Gray and R.C. Collins for a nice dinner at Ted's of Beverly Hills. Everyone loves Ted's famous baked-potato tree.

You can hear Phil's podcasts and recent shows at http://www.philhendrieshow.com/

Phil Hendrie had a weekend talk show on KFI in 1989, the same year that David G. Hall became program director. Hendrie started his weeknight program in 1996. One of my favorite shows is the one where he impersonated David G. Hall announcing the news that he was going to switch KFI to Spanish-language. Outraged callers overloaded the phone lines. ¡Muy cómico!

I thought it might not be permanent, but...I goofed! :-[

On the KTLK shows page, "NBC Sports Radio" with host Dan Schwartzman is listed Mon.-Fri. 10pm-2am. http://www.ktlkam1150.com/pages/nbcsportsradio.html
Phil Hendrie is listed Mon.-Fri. 2am-3am. http://www.ktlkam1150.com/pages/philhendrie.html

Casey Kasem could be heard in the background saying: "2...2!!?? What is this bleeping ponderous man, ponderous, bleeping ponderous".

Phil Hendrie's site with California radio affiliates listed: http://www.philhendrieshow.com/stations/category/california

That Sports guy is so annoying and particularly at that late hour. He seems too hyped up. You really don't want your overnight hosts to be energy maniacs. That is why Doug McIntyre worked great with his jazz music and his relaxed manner. But leave it to radio geniuses to screw that up.

But thanks to us being in 2013 we really don't need to by victimized by these surprise station moves anymore.

Every station streams their shows now so I went to Phil's website and choose an affiliate at random and it took me to their website and in seconds I was streaming his live show on my ipad. Take that KTLK. You lost the one listener that you had. :D

The only shows worth listening to are randi rhodes and stephanie miller. Even though i dont agree with them they are very good at what they do!!!

I say blow up the station into something else for come 3 o clock in the west is one of the worst talk shows ever in the country. Dave cruz. He has no business on ktlk or kfi very sad whoever made that call!!!

David Cruz is awful, but Larry Elder is awful too and yet he has a gig. So I don't think talent or the ability to entertain the audience matters to program directors. Luckily the audience is not as dumb as program directors think they are. Last time I checked Larry Elder and David Cruz were pulling in about 3 listeners a piece.

There might have been four listeners...but many years ago I got tired of hearing Elder pompously declaring "You've just heard the word" and playing that stupid sound effect of a banging gavel.

In more KTLK news, starting on Mon. 1/21/13, David Cruz has been extended 1 hour (will be on from 3-7pm) while Clark Howard moves to the 7-10pm slot.

I like larrys show. Sure he is way old school but somewhat entertaining much moreso then mr cruz.

That man does not put a good product out over the air. He does not belong on commercial talk radio and anyone that buys air time during his shows on either kfi or ktlk should have there head examined. Mr cruz go work at npr where you belong. You fit in nicely there!!! You do not i repeat do not belong on commercial talk radio!!!

What a pathetic little talk station you are ktlk!!!

...Mike Malloy has become a backstabbing jerk who hocked his sense of loyalty years ago. He may have been speaking the truth but I lost all personal sympathy for him after the Nova M fiasco...

I hope their ratings tank in that time slot. I wonder, over the years, how many people thought he has real guests? Phil's a genius. Also alumnus of my alma mater, Arcadia High School.
