What Happened to Power 94.5 Junction City

Well, during my trip through Kansas during the 90s, I was able to pick up a pretty decent CHR in Junction City called Power 94.5. Going back a year or two later, it had changed its name to BIG KAT 94.5, and after that I beleive they moved to 97.5. Does this station still exist in any way shape or form?

Yep. Power Hits 97.5. Or at least that was what it was calling itself Memorial Day weekend.

This station moved to 97.5 in part of the moves that opened up 97.3 for Kansas City. 97.3 in Topeka had to move to 94.5fm so the 94.5 in Junction City had to move.

So are you saying that 94.5, is now a Topeka Frequency. Thats weird, because During the 90s, there was a classic rocker, or album rocker on that frequency, that cut into Power 94.5, while trying to listen in Topeka. I bet the 97.5 J.C signal, isnt near as good as the old 94.5 signal.

Yep, if you like country, you can just flip back and forth between 94.1 KFKF and 94.5 WIBW-FM. Or you can switch between 106.5 and 106.9.

That classic rocker on 94.5 you speak of is probably KRXL in Kirksville, MO.<P ID="signature">______________

Yep, 94.5 is now a Topeka frequency. As for the 97.5 signal, it's the exact same signal 94.5 had. The only thing that changed was the frequency. It's the exact same tower, station class, effective radiated power and antenna height. Now, I grant you that it's not as good as the 94.5 signal was in the early 90's. However, virtually no FM signal is as good as it was in the late 80's/early 90's; KJCK at 94.5 wasn't nearly as good of a signal as it had been by the time I moved to Kansas in 1997. Too many other signals have been dropped into various places.
