What happened to Randi at G105?

I was listening to G105 during the PM-drive slot, but instead of Randi West, I got "On Air with Ryan Seacrest". Did CC-Raleigh finally go off the deep end with G105? In the past, even as they experimented with format after format on 100.7, 106.1, and 93.9, they'd left G alone. Does anybody know what's going on at Smoketree (no pun intended)?...

woah. where the heck have i been???

she's still on the site. maybe vacation ? but why fill in her slot with dang ryan seacrest??

CC needs to get their isshh together!

Seacrest is on now. Why isn't this bigger news? Or does nobody listen / care anymore?

Geller was also missing yesterday, someone was tracking.

On the other hand, overnights are still going strong. Tracked or not (I still think at least parts of that slot are sometimes live), you can't get any better for CC when it comes to local and overnights.

Edit: Seacrest's site lists G105 from 12:00 to 4:00.

But G105's twitter says:

has more tickets and trips, this week to Coldplay in Raleigh Aug, 6th! Listen all week to win tix, starting with Brody in the noon hour!
8:07 AM Jul 13th

(Notice the date)

I haven't been listening for more than a few minutes. But adding Seacrest was a very, very sudden change, or something doesn't add up.

Corporate push down. CC owns Premiere, which syndicates Seacrest. More affiliates that carry the show the more money CC/Premiere makes.

Seacrest isn't the problem -- really, it's just that his show is everywhere, even in Singapore.

Is Seacrest's show the same on all stations? If so, it's a shame that G105 and Bob 93.3 have the same exact content for three hours a day.

And the show hours leave the rest of G's schedule somewhat messed up. 10:00AM-12:00Pm gives Brody only two hours. I'm glad they left everything else including Brody live and local, but why bother?

On the other hand, overnights still sounding strong. They really could have totally automated that slot or tossed down Sisanie or some other jock, but they've left things alone and it sounds real good -- much better than most.

Yes, and no. The voiced-over formats I believe are the same, but stations run music according to their own playlists. That's what I've noticed here in Tampa and Orlando, where the playlists on WFLZ and WXXL have some striking differences (such as songs like "21 Guns" and "No Surprise" being aired on Orlando's XL, while Tampa's FLZ relegates those two songs to CC's AC station, WMTX)
