What happened to the 979 Eagle in Meridian?

What are they playing now? I haven't been in the area in almost a year.

WOW. I never expected that move... but a move in general on the station doesn't surprise me because WMSO didn't do spectacularly while I was in the CC-Meridian building. It wasn't from lack of trying, listeners just didn't respond to oldies or classic hits. Good luck with it. I would expect the format to do well in Meridian.

I was in Quitman Monday night and heard the new format then. It makes sense... since WALT-AM dropped their black gospel format for talk, the only other station in Meridian with a comparable format is WNBN-AM.

Having been "Hallelujah'ed" out of gig here in Memphis a couple of years ago, my condolences.

Sure they prayed for ya,Robert! I'm sure the pressure was there to get the format on in Meridian on one of their stations. As is the case in other Hal markets,it'll look good ratings wise. Hope they don't expect a blessing in revenue from it,though. <P ID="signature">______________

I think only one full-timer, the PD/Morning Man was totally out. The Midday girl was reassigned to mornings on the news-talk AM where she now does news. The afternoon jock was given a board-op shift on the news-talker, which didn't last. I VT'ed nights, so I already had a day job.
BUT... we weren't offered the opportunity to stay on. Hmmm...
