What happened to the afternoon guy on True Oldies?

He was super nice! I tuned in last Mon. and noticed that he was gone and he hasn't been back since, they have just extended Scott Shannon's time.

His voice sounds familiar. Maybe I'm mistaken, but the last time I heard a similar voice was on 94.9 Lite fm three years ago.

The voice you had been hearing was Rob Lee. Corporate made the decision to put Scott Shannon back on in afternoons.

I am a huge fan of oldies and some of you probably know. I was so excited when this station flipped, but it has rapidly fallen off the radar for me. I cannot stand Shannon's voice for one, the station just sounds so automated and fake. I mean this is a major top ten market, come on guy's cough up some cash and turn this station into a great oldies station. Examples are CBS, 102.7 out of Miami....

It would help if they improved their processing--unless they are intentionally trying to sound retro like AM radio...

Say what you want. 106.7 is still a terrific oldies station and Shannon is not all that bad and is a good music programer. 106.7 has a great playlist but hey if you don't like it DON'T listen, there are plenty that do. Just be thankful we have an oldies station in Atlanta.

Why is the afternoon guy MIA? They're cash strapped! Numbers on the Dow keep falling!

Rob Lee is a good jock and was doing a great job,the River plays alot of oldies so the could crush 106.7 if the rally wanted to turn up the heat.

True Oldies belongs to Shannon...his baby...his deal. He's on in markets all over the country and does very well in quite a few markets. Unfortunately he's on a Citadel station in Atlanta. If you'll look at what they have done to a once legendary group all over the country, you'll understand why they are another broadcast group that is responsible for so much harm to terrestrial radio.

I remember when Scott Shannon was just experimenting with building his "true oldies nation" on his little am in CT. He's a pretty good guy too. Responds to inquiries and commentary, loves a good laugh, plays a lot of obscure stuff that people forgot about ages ago.

and re-records old voice tracks. Rob Lee was/is very talented and a local voice is wanted and needed. ;D

You will see more small time local people going away too, before all is said and done.
