What happened to the Beat 36?

It sounds awful these days. They don't play enough true dance music. They repeat the songs too often. They took the older dance stuff and mixed it with disco on the Strobe which sounds awful. I miss Remix's House Party that used to run on Sundays. Sirius devotes too much to break beats and hip hop and not enought to true dance and house. Is XM any better? Might be time to defect.

Actually, The Beat has gotten BETTER in the past few weeks. Seems they have made some programming changes. They are playing a lot of new music, and finally adding some Euro tracks.

I used to listen to the Beat all the time but like you said they did play the samething every hour it seemed like. I haven't listened lately but I will have to check it out now to see if it sounds any better. Sometimes I think the music they play is too commercialized (all pop songs remade with a dance beat) and that kind of turns me off to it.

I agree some of those classic dance tunes do not mix well with disco. They need to add those to the Beat or make another channel... specifically for classic dance songs (not disco). Examples; Cece Penniston, C & C Music Factory, Nu Shooz, New Order... etc.

Do you agree???

Agreed, I've been listening to The Beat a lot more over the last month. Two weeks ago, I made a trip from Dallas to Austin. During that 3 hours, I listened to The Beat exclusively, and I paid careful attention for repeats. I only noticed one song that repeated during that period.

If only the sound quality were better!

Exactly! The Beat sounds like it is being received through a tin can compared to some of the other Sirius stations.
