What happened to WSYB?

Does anyone still listen to WSYB? This is a station that has been on the air for over 70 plus years, and it sure sounds like it needs to be dragged out to the field on Door Drive, and .....well, you know what would happen next! I sure hope Marbles, the Bear, and the Suit are happy with the GREAT job they've done ruining Vermont's oldest radio station! What's next on this station? Only the Great Marbles knows! Let's look at the lineup and grade it, shall we?
Morning show: F
Middays: C+
Afternoon: B+
Nights: ?
Weekends: F
Sports: F
News: F

With the exception of Rush and Miller, and maybe Philbin, everything else FAILS!! Not grading good in my book, Marbles! You may have to take or teach another course! Thank god WSYB was under other owners for 99% of their 70 plus years, because if Marbles, the Bear, and the Suit ran it, there is NO DOUBT, this station wouldn't have seen 10 years!!! Sad, so very sad, I hope they're happy!

"Arnold" do you think you are being a bit hyper-critical ? Philbin is great, and has been a staple there since March of 1995..He sound good with Thad pusing the buttons. El Rushbo has been on since 1990, with a slight lapse in 1999 when Rush was regulated to the then "NewsTalk 92.1" experiment. Dennis Miller has proven to be a good addition to the line-up, albeit a tape delay..Fox Sports Radio has been on as fill ever since, and frankly I'd rather enjoy more talk offerings instead of sports.. Bohannon is still on.. The Sunday Morning "Sock Hop" seems to live on.. They are trying to keep the sports going, though filling the huge void of Jack Healey's absence is very well noticed.. Doing news is tough, though a better attempt than what has been. There has been no bona-fide news person there since Larry Cohen, and I'm sure there is no budget for that, it's a shame that Nancy Gordon's talents are not utilized on WSYB more. It's a far cry from when the "Talknet" automation was jury rigged to a cart machine playing the legal ID, and when the switch wasn't thrown, featured dead air from 8:00 pm until either the Z 97 DJ took the time to fix that, or Jack Healey got to work the next morning..

I wonder how the "NUMBAH's" for the market were, not hearing much since the big ratings company embargoed the market..

Gadon,
Did you follow in EVERYONE'S footsteps, and FORGET the WSYB Morning Show? Seems to me, that it is just to EASY to overlook, that's because it's a non-factor in the market! And isn't a good morning show , the foundation of every station? Also, Nancy Gordon, will never be utilized properly! She is under the thumb of the great one! I also see that you managed to "brush" over the sports on WSYB. Let's be honest, it ST**KS!! Yes, Philbin is good, Rush is Great, Miller is good, but the rest of the time, LOCALLY, iWSYB is ewwwwww!

"Arnold", the WSYB morning show is what it is.. It serves a purpose and has a captive audience with no real competition since there is no Imus presence in the market like there once was.. The show is community focused and every 'mucky muck' in town who wants to know what is going on, listens. It is community radio. Collamore and Healey clicked like a well oiled machine, the two of them had a lot of history together prior to their pairing in 1995. Would you rather hear nationally syndicated Bill Bennett or Doug Stephens, or even silence in the morning ? I did not brush over the sports on WSYB, I could not even tell you who are doing the games, though I know the games are being done. The absence of all things tangible and intangible that Healey, along with Allo and Lawrence before they moved on, is very noticable, especially in a market the size of Rutland. We were spoiled with their great talents, and the bar for local sports coverage and interest was set rather high. Pamal has already taken one of their AM's dark in another market, and a lot of small market stations are going dark every day with the economy. It is what it is.. ???
