A few of us were discussing the old Q 103 in CR the other day and we are trying to figure where some of those former djs ended up ...........

Gary Dixon?
I am guessing Todd still runs the ID
Mark in the Dark from Clinton , Iowa originally
Carla Davis also from Clinton originally
JJ Gerrard?

By the looks of e-mails on this post I am guessing that Funny Candy Co....might be Michelle Steele who I believe does part time at the station now called Z 102.9.
Curious as to whether Wall Cloud might be a former Q DJ.??
By the way check out KimCollins.net and hear a sample of her voice work .
oh and what about Datyl Bryant???

Thanks for the quick response...maybe Todd will start a new radio station , a home for former CR RADIO ICONS that doesn't serve those over 60. Ha. ;D
 
Daryl Bryant lives in central Florida now and runs a photography business. He was just back in Iowa City a couple of weeks ago.
 
Dixon is in Florida? WOW... I had heard that he was out of radio and was driving truck out of Fargo, ND but that was over 5 years ago or so.

JJ Gerard is now in Milwaukee at 97.3 the Brew. http://www.973thebrew.com/pages/jjgerard1.html
He was in Cincinnati (B105) before moving to Milwaukee I believe last year. And before Cincy, he was at Q103.

Carla Davis was just at KDAT in Cedar Rapids before she left sometime in May of 06.

Mark in the Dark JoHanson left Q103 to go to Kansas City and I have no idea where he went from there.

Hey thanks........yes this does help.........we are on a roll now, thought of a few others...

Samantha Scott...did overnights at Q long ago.....?
Scotty Snipes...I think he might have been a PD for a short time?(as the good old Q days started to become a thing of the past)
I recall he was from Texas or something?????
I really appreciated seeing that Wisconsin website and checking out JJ Gerard w/o
his long red locks. He was funny , always reminded me of BEAKER....from the Muppets. Glad he's till in the 'biz he loves.

Funny that "OPEN HOUSE Party" is still going ....how old does that John G. have to be these days?....hate to admit it, when I hear him it still reminds me of home ...although I don't believe you guys have him anywhere in the CR market do you? (Waterloo and Quad Cities I think)

Funniest memory of the OLD Q .........Schulte leading a Rap (I believe it was in likeness of "Can't Touch This" ) and each of the Jocks doing a line promoting themselves...I can still hear .."Mark in the Dark, Top Ten at Nine." (to the beat of teh song) That was killer.

Scotty Snipes moved to Georgia I heard and not sure what he is up to now.

Open House Party I believe can still be heard on 92.3 out of Waterloo which makes it heard in CR.

Carla is still in Cedar Rapids and enjoying "life after radio." Still active with the Kernels.

Back when I was a "baby DJ" in Ft. Dodge, Gary Dixon was one of the guys I always sent tapes to. Almost got 7-Midnight at Q-103 once. Ended up going to Sioux City instead. Oh, well...can't win 'em all!

Still in the Biz and I worked there with everyone you mentioned and left shortly after Scottie Snipes started and I am none of the people you have already mentioned.

I cannot recall when Scotty Snipes left....to tell you the truth , I had forgot about him until I read an old posting where Michelle Steele (Funny Candy Co) mentioned him.
I cannot believe how "into" radio she has become...and so opinionated and loyal.

After KRNA Samantha left radio behind and disappeared to Northern Minnesota. That was over 10 years ago. She was a great talent and lots of fun ( not to mention HOT ) . Anybody got an update?
 
She was a fun gal...I also wonder what she is up to these days.
Radio folks are a rare breed...been friends with many of them.

How about you Five Part , are you a former or current jock in the CR/IC radio biz?
 
So are you in the CR area now Will??? Ever worked radio or tv, or just a fan???
 
I have a little "experience" in both. Been friends with radio/tv people for a long time. Been away and back again.

So ...how about you?
I feel bad I brought up old names from Q 103 and somehow didn't mention you...
It has been quite a long time, so didn't mean to slight you.
Were you there in the early 90s and were you on air?
