Man...I am going to have to kick this habit, it's driving me nuts.

I know the idea is not to reveal yourself.....but wouldn't it be nice if everyone was comfortable enough with their opinions to not have to hide their identity.
oh well, guess I will never know.
I imagine I will be driving out of CR someday and scan my dial and hear you and say..."hey I bet that's Disco John" , not to be confused with Disco Don.

Keep listening... and true, I am not Disco Don but I think most of Eastern Iowa misses him doing the Saturday Night Dance Mix. One other thing, I have never worked with or have even met him.

I am neither prepared to confirm nor deny that I am Michelle Steele. I am highly interested in the idea, however. I'll get to that. Will2Change, a couple of questions: First, if you really are "in and out" of the area and more "out" as you'd have us believe by your "lack of DJ knowledge" charade----why not just tell us who YOU are? Come on! You haven't attempted to offend or slander anyone in any way, shape, or form. You seem innocent enough! If you are merely a curious "oldtimer", why not honor that by outing your identity? I think there may be more here than idle chit chat about the Ol Q, Norton, I mean Will! Hee Hee. Okay, back to the questioning. In mentioning OLD Q103 jocks, why on earth give reference to DARYL BRYANT? He was certainly more a KRNA jock! What, he was on Q for ONE break, maybe TWO before getting fired? But you didn't mention Dino, Magic Matt, Ryno, Mark Sommers, Tom Thomas, Paul Anthony,etc? Daryl Bryant? If not Norton, you are certainly old KRNA blood! You mention old school Q and then DARYL BRYANT? You missed a whole generation of Q103 talent. Maybe you were "out" then. ;D
By the way, if any of you know anything about these talented guys, do share, by the way!
Next question, why would you be suprised Michelle Steele is "opinionated"? Wasn't she conceived on that station? I believe the 102.9 frequency is her only claim to radio fame. Why wouldn't she be? I don't know of anyone who has much against her.....or would that be ME? That is the question, I guess! I've been called "Metro" before....the thought of posing as a dumb blonde ( I believe she's a blonde, maybe I made that up in my own perverted mind) on this board does have it's perks......Hmmmmmmm, I'll have to ponder this awhile.

Yes, I don't take part in slandering people ...you are right there.
I have not hid my identity anymore than anyone else and have answered all questions asked of me.....you are the one who seems uncomfortable identifying yourself...and I can see why ,,given the nasty language and comments you have posted about many people . Why is there a need for this? I only read half of the small print when signing up for this service and I know it said not to be naughty....tisk tisk. Why are you so intense? Man, take a chill pill.
Simmer down, no one is attacking you...at least I am not nor anyone else...merely sharing old memories and wondering about the chums I used to hang with .
I only knew of you briefly and you were so new to radio ..I just didn't picture you being so verbal in such negative ways.
You mention Norton a lot in e-mails....I don't even know him and asked nothing about him. Try to have a nice night...whoever you are.

I was speaking of your many negative posts ..., not necessarily the response to mine , although you did seem rather jumpy.
I agree e-mail is hard to interpret sometimes...I wish I was wrong and that you are not Michelle , she seemed so nice and I would hate to think the world of radio would make her so negative to speak with a foul tongue .
It used to be so much fun.....can't we all work to make it that way again.
Just a thought.
 
I think Daryl Bryant was on Q103 for longer than 1 or 2 breaks. Wasn't he there for 2 to 3 years and then left Q103 for KRNA??? I don't think he got fired from Q103.

Dino and Magic Matt... that will take you back a few years.

Dino was last in Pittsburgh from what I remember. Magic Matt is out of radio and working at an area College the last that I knew. The former owner Bill Clymer passed away a few years ago from cancer. Tom Thomas is now up in Madison and working sales for a TV station WKOW and also voice-tracks for a couple of stations I heard thru the grapevine.

I thought Tom T was doing part time in CR at Z and also doing tv sales, so that is new news to me.
Magic Matt was a good kid, I hope he is doing well.
I didn't think Daryl was a fly by night dj at Q either....but as we agree that has been awhile.

Does anyone know anything about why Disco Don left, and where he is/what he is doing now? We used to talk quite a bit but I can't get ahold of him, and I have no idea how I'd go about that...
 
Last I heard was Disco Don was driving a CR Bus. Not sure if that is true or not, but that is why he left the biz from my understanding.

Tom Thomas moved up to Wisconsin in the last 6 month's or so. Saw his house was for sale and found out he moved up there.

I agree, Magic Matt was a good kid and wish him well.

Dino who was Dean Russell on the radio before becoming Dino became Dino Robitelle or something like that when he moved out east.

And, just for the record, if I have EVER said an unkind word to you....please, speak up. In order protect the innocent (sorry Michelle, this has gone far enough!) I have only EVER fought back in response to Super Soul aka Skeezix. Period. In fact, I have oftened asked others why this board is so mean. There, now, that being said, what happened to Skid Mark? (Mark Chase)

She came to Bismarck about 8 or 9 years ago. Did evenings, then afternoons, at KFYR. Then married a guy from Superior and left for there, last I knew, something like 5 or 6 years ago.
 
I have a confession to make. This might come as a shock to some of you, but I have a conscience. Yes, that is the confession. If you were hoping I'd say I'm Michelle Steele, sorry. And "sorry" is the reason I am typing this. What started out as a "joke" has actually made me feel really badly. I didn't think through the consequences of my actions when I jokingly said I might be Ms. Steele. I know that I pretty much cleared up the fact that I wasn't her....but I never made that clear. After re-reading my post and then Will2's reactions, I started feeling very guilty. When I left radio, Michelle was one of the very few people who actually looked me in the eye as I was leaving the building. Everyone else pretended nothing was happening or got very busy when it was my time to exit the biz. She took the time to shake my hand and wish me well. She didn't deserve the disrespect (which I never intended) in my post. I really just meant this to be funny. I doubt very much she wastes her time reading this drivel, but just in case, she is an intelligent, good hearted person and I couldn't live with myself if someone did mention this board to her and she spent one minute wondering who could have done such a thing. For that, I am sorry. Now, as for Supersoul. I am NOT one teeny weeny (and yes, I'm sure he has one) bit sorry!

Michelle Steele was a user and Norton fell into her lair early on in her time with him. Norton is such a sucker for a pretty face. And Candy does NOT have a pretty face.

Daryl Bryant liked to dress up like a Nazi and was secretly dating Monica West during their time at KRNA when they got into a fight one night while one was finishing their shift and the other was beginning. Monica struck Daryl in the head, he called the cops, and pressed assault charges against her.

Monica still brings out the beast in the men in her life. Just ask the current Z PD.

First, I can't recall you ever bashing me. But thanks for your concern. ;)

Secondly, the Daryl-to-KRNA switch wasn't part of the Q purchase. Daryl decided to go back to school at the UI, and wanted to do a part-time schedule. He was doing nights at Q at the time, and had some sort of issues with management.

Long story short, Monica helped arrange a deal where Daryl quit Q and came to KRNA...and his last shift at Q and first part-time shift at KRNA were literally two hours apart one weekend afternoon. If I recall correctly, he did the midday afternoon show at Q on a Saturday afternoon and then the evening shift at KRNA that night.
Q management didn't know he was heading to KRNA until they heard him on the air.
We all got a kick out of that one. :D

KRNA bought Q a few months later. (It was funny, because even before the sale was announced, Magic Matt and I did characters on the phone for each other's overnight shows, and then-KRNA engineer Ryan Nelson and I would sneak into Q late at night after CR Reds games and hang out with Michelle Steele on her night show.)
