What happened with KRML-1410? It is dark right now

Hi. I'm in Monterey. KRML-1410 has been off the air for about 2 weeks, but the programming is going on their FM translator on 102.1 just fine with the new format they started on October 29, 2012. Is their a problem with the FM transmitter or another reason why the AM 1410 is silent right now?

Since they dumped the jazz format, its probably more profitable keeping the AM off the air. Just another local "corporate" owner who says he hates corporate radio! What a laugh.

Anyone remember the 1971 movie "Play Misty For Me" with Clint Eastwood and Donna Mills? Eastwood played a DJ on a jazz radio station in Carmel. The call letters used were KRML. :)

The studio scenes were shot in the actual KRML studios. Eastwood (a longtime Carmel resident) was a fan.

"Play Misty For Me" Starred Eastwood and Jessica Walter. Not Donna Mills.

Yeah, it was really shot at KRML.

Donna Mills was also in the film, though. IIRC, Mills played Clint's girlfriend, while Walter did the star turn as the psycho woman who was stalking Clint. I haven't seen the film since its original theatrical run in 1971, but I seem to recall that Clint had a one-night stand with the Walter character, and that's what set her off. Or maybe I'm confusing it with Fatal Attraction (Michael Douglas, Glenn Close)...

I couldn't stand watching Jessica Walter for years after that, though it finally occurred to me it was nothing I disliked about her acting, or about her personally - just that she played such a repugnant character in Misty.
