What happened with WAGY 1510 New Orlenans?

For a while now 1510 WAGY New Orleans has been pumping out Cajun music along side 1600 KLEB. Today I noticed WAGY has flipped to Gospel along with a translator south of New Orleans.

I checked with professor Google and Wikipedia and they still think 1510 is Cajun... WAGY has updated their website but they don't have a convenient "history" section to fulfill my needs. So when, what, why and how dis this happen without notice?

KAGY (not "WAGY") is far removed from the city of New Orleans. While it is in Plaquemines Parrish, part of the NO metro, that Parrish only has 23,000 persons and KAGY has a 5 mV/m over less than 5,000 of them. It is certainly not a signal that serves the core area of the market. The 12 watt translator covers less than 1,000 people with a 60 dbu signal.

Wikipedia is a poor source for most station information, as there is seldom one person who knows all the history of a station and the writers tend to fill in the missing pieces with guesswork. Unless a journal, blog, newspaper or the like has an article format changes often go unnoticed, particularly in such tiny markets.
