I can't believe how lame and off topic Arlene's shows have gotten.
She was handed a huge local topic with the Dufault "coumatta" scandal
and she's got Ken and Barbie on her show talking Catholic docterine today.
And yesterday she was talking oil prices.
Arlene, you are a LOCAL show and local should be the focus.
She used to be a pitbull on these local issues.
Sad to say but Arlene Violet has become a hanger on.
She's on cruise control. It's a shame really.

Diaz worked like a dog for WHJJ and Arlene threw her
under the bus! I heard Diaz is sick over being fired.
Where is Arlene the 'compassionite one' to help her.

No lamer that the spiral of lambasting and attacking anyone who works at WHJJ, anyone who manages WHJJ, or hosts at WHJJ..except Geoff Charles who i encourage you continue to criticize as much as your heart desires.

I thought it was the move to AAR, but man I was wrong, it appears that there is a true obsession here with hating WHJJ....its kinda tired. I know you won't like this being said but don't you think its time to exit the spiral....

It's not an obsession at all. Since this is a RADIO board and RADIO is the topic then RADIO talk shows would be quite relevant.
WHJJ was a very important station in RI for many years.
It is sad to see what's happened to it and especially Arlene Violet.
She's not only lost her fastball, sinker and slider but she's lost her zeal to go afte realy important stories and pound them hard.

Yes Doc,
I was a big advocate for Arlene!
After 9 11 she kind of lost it.
She used to be an advocate for all of us.
I don`t see any of that anymore.
Her show is kind of wandering,sorry to say.
I also think many on this Radio Board think highly of
Linda Diaz, Missy,Steve and many others at Hjj.
As for arlene , I just think her heart is NOT in this anymore!

Do you know when WHJJ was good? 1986. Paul Perry afternoons, Bruce Williams and talk Net overnights. A News Department which was first in it's class. The station once had the magic. If they could just recapture it then they would be fine. Build up the News Department again. Get rid of that old crow in the mornings..... and get Depetro back and add Phil Hendrie at night. Then I'll listen again.

see, i see what you are saying about Linda and Kerri. I know Kerri, and I hated to see her go to WSAR but she wasnt fired (so i thought)....but you guys maligned it when it went progressive. I've never been a big Arlene fan. (You guys know I like Randi rhodes)...so i barely listen to Arlene...but on ths forum, I rarely hear one good word about the station except on how "It would be so much better if we put back that loathsome DePetro and add some second/third class conservative host on the air". I don't think any of you will be happy until we have another fully conservative radio station. Unless they do that, the b***ching spiral continues.....its the bad news reporting, its the management, its Arlene, Depetro left...blah blah blah, etc its always something wrong at WHJJ until you see the station change to something more for your palates.

Ill say it again, we don't need more conservative radio in Providence. We need an alternative view (even if its not progressive radio). Im not happy with the schedule at WHJJ and im certainly not happy that they bailed on progressive radio. Its just a little grating to hear you guys praise second/third rate hosts on WPRO (DePetro (failing on WRKO), Kass (pre-new job), Yorke (you guys hate him yourselves), Jen (before she left), etc) when they are no better than the AAR or the local hosts on WHJJ. Rush and Savage are going to get their regular audiences....even i don't like them....and WPRO will dip without the sox.

Again, Charles deserves every acidic word you throw at him...he is absolutely reprehensible. Im not defending the station either. I have very little reason to listen now with all the changes....but setting WHJJ up as WPRO's little buddy is NOT THE ANSWER.
