...is that for all the screaming about keeping costs down, I have a proven model for a talk show that won't cost any station a dime, and give them local content to sell and make money. Free money!

I'm ready to get back in the game after a year away, but is anybody willing to bite? So far, it's been cast, reel and recast.

Again.... NO COST! LOCAL PROGRAMMING! FREE MONEY!

I swear, I thought I was speaking their language.

Don't give up so easily Dan. Radio PDs are more interested in updating databases than listening to demos. Keep your chin up and try another angle. but don't give up and DON'T BLAME YOUR TALENT. It's not the same biz it was just 5 short years ago...

Dan have you looked into the internet route for doing a show. You audience is limitless and lots of freedom that you don't have over the air. Kinda curious?
 
Well,...I love this market too. If not I wouldn't have spent ##-years in both Radio & TV. However, to me, I feel that instead of
"Interesting",...I'll go with "Drastically Underwhelming". Two Alledged Rock stations that underserve, an Alledged CHR that won't shed its Churban millstone, Two Alledged AC's that won't shed their drugstore Cowboy boots, and Two Steady Countrys that win by default, book after book, in both the ratings book, and the pocket book! The good news here is this...whether you like it or whether you don't like it, things are changing. The only thing separating LOVE & HUDSON from #1, 6a-10a, A25-54 is their lack of coverage, and that too can change. Even Corp Radio is beginning to understand that...we might as well run it...because we can't sell it for what we paid for it! Yes, I predict change. Be patient like me... You might even hear me on the air again.
Now,...I can create some fear!
 
My first radio gig was mornings at WCCP in Clemson back at the ripe ol' age of 19. Dan was always class. I am blessed to be the Lead Producer for the Furman IMG Network with WOLT-FM, which has given me a second chance to work along side Dan.

Here's class: Dan suggests to me, about a week ago, to do a few live breaks from the studio (scores and such). No extra pay. No glory. But, for a true radio guy, it meant the world.

This is, quite frankly, the best job in radio I could ask for. And, yes, Dan Scott deserves a mic in this market. Moreover, this market deserves Dan behind a mic.
 
To me, then, and today, even though covered up, by the fodder that they fluently spout,...Big Stick FM's could pay for both a News, and a Sports Director. The diff is betwixed(southern term) "Could" & "Would". At the annual Pow Wow, the local GM's need to submit the "Correct" opperating cost to the Injun Chief Investors. Yep, it takes this amount of Wompum to to send the smoke out the top of the Teepee! Whether you like it...or...you don't like it! Maybe one tight skirt sales chick has enough mic grace to do the News, then go out, and sell for another four hours. It has been done before! We need the competion of more morning teams: Let's say John Crenshaw & Alice West, Scooter Lesley & Maybe...John Crenshaw...or Scott Summers...or John Ellis?? John Ellis & Dan Scott? Freqdev & one of the flyin' monkeys from the Wizard of Oz?...Now, there's a double nintendo! How 'bout a Tri-fectra-tastic: Think of the Banter between myself, Scooter Lesley, Dan Scott & John Ellis. You wanna tell me that a seasoned rep couldn't sell that!
