What if 3TV Duplicated GMAZ in the Evenings?

Since 3TV has anemic ratings in the late evenings, what if they tried to duplicate GMAZ in the 9 and 10pm timeslots? Perhaps it could be tailored to an evening crowd. If so, what would Good Night Arizona look like???

I would think they need to go a harder news route since FOX 10 has so many lifestyle and entertainment stories on their 9pm cast already.

Didn't KTVK already try that with the original reincarnation of The NewShow at 10 P.M. back in 1999? It didn't work and The News Show (as it was renamed) reverted to a more traditional format in early 2001.

They are currently very newsy and the ratings are anemic, compared to Fox 10. They need to do something to draw more viewers. Fields and Carey seem capable enough, but don't command the eyeballs.

I agree, I personally think they're too newsy. They should have more segments like Fox 10, "The Wall" and "The Buzz". They needa get some off beat stories and maybe give their own personal insight! I left 3TV for Fox 10 - (9PM News)

They're "straight-newsy" (like CNN, and you know how their ratings are). I was thinking of them using the 9pm newscast to go "inside the story," - a little bit more investigative. I don't think copying Fox 10's infotainment approach will help 3.

The critique that 3TV is too newsy is amusing to me. (i'm not saying it's wrong....) But just a few years ago, lots of folks on this board called 3TV "The place with more fluff" since they had really dumbed-down the product at the time. What goes around......

I watch the news for "news" and information not for opinion,
comment, fluff, fill or slant. If I wanted to be entertained, I'd
put on TMZ, Inside Edition, Entertainment Tonight, etc , etc.
Unfortunately, gone are the days of Walter Cronkite, Huntley/
Brinkley Report, etc.

Well I for one liked when ABC 15 at Now @9. I liked the concept of news plus internet stuff, plus just whatever else was happening. Wouldn't mind if 3 tried something similar.
