WHAT IF HJJ HAD WON THE BIDDING WAR

What does everyone think the scenario would be today if Cianci had gone to HJJ instead of WPRO in 2007? Would he still be there? Would St Pierre have followed him? Would HJJ's numbers have improved significantly or does WPRO simply have a loyal audience regardless of who is on? Who would be on middays at WPRO? I think Cianci would have brought an audience with him but doubt it would have spilled over into other shifts. I gotta wonder if he'd still be there though with Clear Channel pretty much targeting anything that breathes as expendable in that building.

He'd beat PRO in that first book, and Helen might have as well if they moved her to follow Buddy, but then, since they don't have anyone hold his hand in the studio, he'd fall apart, and his show would be too terrible to listen to.

He would have been let go by now knowing the financial situation over there.

If he got his way Ron would have gone to HJJ too and if they got let go with budget cuts they'd have landed back at WPRO anyway but probably for less money.

A friend of mine spoke to Ron recently. Ron said Buddy in the last book, had a 12 SHARE.. Thats completely amazing! I think if Buddy went to HJJ, by now Matt Allen would be there with him , going against Dan Yorke and I think Buddy would be the building blocks for bringing HJJ back to life.
A 12 share is un heard of. The money in ads would be fanuminal. (sp)

Matt would not leave, we have been down this road before. He had more than enough chances to go to HJJ in the past; but as we've seen, he made the right decision because Helen and Bill george are the only warm bodies over there and will continue to be for the forseeable future with the contracts they have for Rush, Hannity, Beck, et al

Wk, youre missing the point. We're talking about IF BUDDY WERE THERE!. Youre not. I dont think Allen likes either Yorke, Depetro or management. He loves Buddy. If Buddy was at HJJ, Allen would go there. I like WPRO alot, but come on guy, you over do it sometimes.

A 12 share! Buddy should ask for 500,000 a year! unreal number.

ryan.

A 12 Share ? ? ? How do we really know for sure? Isn't that never-ending embargo still in effect?

Also, what sort of demos does that "12 Share" represent? Talk radio tends to skew older to begin with, and at this stage in his life and career, it's tough for me to imagine that Buddy's demos include much more than the fiercely loyal "We Love You Buddy" folks...

As for the possibility of 920 having landed Buddy?... If they were unwilliing to keep Arlene Violet and the other folks they already had......what makes anyone think that CC would have come up with the king's ransom that it took for Buddy to land at 630.

I think history has already given us the answer.

WHJJ bid up to 230,000. WPRO bid 300,000. thats from the Pro Jo.

I understand the point completely. What I am saying is the EVEN IF BUDDY WAS THERE, he wouldn't have gone because of the moves that were being made at the time and the dire straights the parent company was (and still is) in
