What is 104.5 translating?

Isn't 104.5 supposed to be rebroadcasting Q106.7? If so, why is it originating programming that doesn't appear on Q106.7 or any of its HD channels?

Did the FCC suddenly allow translators to originate more than 30 seconds of unique programming per hour?

To whom started this conversation.

For the 3 people in the area that have digital receivers they can now get all 4 stations on 106.7 ... for the rest who have analog radios they can now receive those transmissions via translators.

If you ever have a question about what we are doing ... why don't you try asking me. My name is Stephen with a ph... I am on here you can message me ... call the station... my email is on our webpages ... or you can find me at any BSens game.

I'd be more than happy to answer your questions.

There is one really good thing about 104.5, The young women in my office can no longer listen to Wild 104.1. We can't get it anymore. Yipee!!!! No More Rap in our office!!!!

I think I must own 2 of those 3 receivers.
I used to be able to pick up WRRQ-HD, but I can't anymore. I do get WSKG-HD, WYXL-HD, and WQNY-HD just fine though.
"The Drive" isn't what I expected.

Actually, "The Drive" is about what I expected, based on the few times I've gotten a chance to listen to it.

It reminds me (but not exactly) of Power 101 circa 1996 or the old "CD-100" format.

I heard one of my favorite obscure songs... "Southside" by Moby(w/Gwen Stefani)

If I get the ambition, I will soon be increasing the HD listener base to 4... Not in a newer car, though... I don't get my cars until they're 'broken in'. That generally means 10+ years and 100,000+ miles!

Count me in as the 3rd. person that has an HD receiver.

Can't tell much difference in audio quality on the HD channels tho.

I use mine mostly for WSKG. It eliminates the multipath issues on the Vestal Parkway. When I travel up 96 to the train club in Marengo, I listen to WYXL's HD3 channel, which is a triple-A format called "The Vine". The HD3's coverage far exceeds the range of the translator that it also appears on.

It doesn't appear that WRRQ has their HD transmitter running at full power. When it first signed on, I could get it all the way to Danby. Now I can barely get it in Vestal.

My parents house, where I was for break (without internet ~sigh~), is three blocks from the station, and I can see the tower up on the hill from their back deck, but I couldn't get the HD signal, but all the analogs were crystal clear though... No offense, but not a fan at all of Sunny (way boring to me, then again it's not geared towards my age group); the drive had it's moments (but nothing I'd listen to on the regular).

Sometime last week, WRRQ HD2 (104.5 The Drive) and WRRQ HD3 (Sunny 107) went silent, but the translators are still on with music. WRRQ HD4 was still airing Cool 100.

A quick check this morning confirms that the HD2 and HD3 are still silent, but the respective translators are still on and airing the HD2 and HD3 formats.

So why are you still originating programming on the translators when the hd2, hd3 are off? Hd1 is on, albeit without proper delay set up.

The translators should be off if the hd2/3 is not on, regardless if they are fed directly.

A quick check this morning, and I am getting 106.7 and 106.7-3. It is as if 106.7-2 and 106.7-4 don't exist to my radios.

Thanks for making me go up to the top of the hill for no reason as both transmitter was transmitting and receivers were receiving.. for not only 2-3-and 4...

oh by the way... what happened the other night that Big was off during the Snes game for so long?... It was wierd hearing grady say let me know when it's back on again.... and it was on...
