What is 1190's format now?

I tell friends & family that 1190's format is called "Tune In & Find Out" It may be a talk show, a ball game, news, classic country music, I've heard church programs on Sunday morning a time or two. So just "Tune In & Find Out."

I think they are mainly pre-paid blabber shows & Classic Country during the hours that no one pre-paid.

It's the future of radio, especially the AM band.
Find a subject, find some backers, find some talent, do some promotion and you can have your very own radio show. Makes me wish I knew people with money.

It is the future of radio, until mobile Internet becomes widely available and as easily accessible as broadcast radio. Then when brokered programming producers realize that it is much cheaper to produce a webcast that can be heard anywhere as opposed to buying time on a traditional broadcast facility, you'll see a lot of AM stations bite the dust.

Towers and transmitters will be a thing of the past in 10 years. It will save owners hundreds of thousands of dollars so they can invest in more voice tracking and syndicated shows :D

1190 is pretty good when they are playing Classic Country. Good Selection.

They need to start playing it all day instead of this talk crap.

if I remember right, they showed up in the ratings a little (which 1190 has not doen in years), while they were Cowboy 1190.

They did. I think they had a .3 or .7
Better than what they have now.

The music selection is interesting. Its just sad to see what happened to that frequency

It is. I'd love to see them get the KLIF call sign back & be music (Classic Country would be great)
all the time (with news at the top of each hour & weather bulletins instantly, of course.) KLIF 1190 (under Gordon McLendon) was legendary not only for it's music, but also for their award winning news.
