What is Adel 99.7 in Amarillo?

I don't know what this station was originally, but they are now playing a very CHR sounding lineup of female artists. They seem to be jockless, so maybe it is a stunt. Does anyone know anything about this station? I can not find a website, and nothing on Wikipedia.

An "all divas" format? Has to be a stunt. Wonder what the true format will be? Would it really be another CHR? They already have 93.1 and 96.9.

Here's the facebook page to the previous format: https://www.facebook.com/Legends997

says in the description: "Sorry to disappoint so many of you all. I am the manager who put the format on the air. They didn't like me or the format so we are both gone."

99.7 Amarillo Is Fun
July 26, 2013 at 8:41 pm By Lance Venta

Fun 99.7 KBZD Amarillo Divas Adele Legends Classic CountryAfter stunting for a few weeks with an all female “Divas” microformat, 99.7 KBZD Amarillo has flipped to Hot AC “Fun 99.7“.

The Tejas Broadcasting station is branding itself as “Amarillo’s Best Music” and has added Premiere Radio Networks syndicated ‘On With Mario Lopez’.

Just my opinion, but the format seems more CHR than Hot AC. I did not hear any 80s based titles when I sampled it today, and none of the 90s grunge you would expect to hear in a Hot AC format. This seems more positioned with what KISS FM is. Just my opinion, but I think they're really going after Kiss more than Mix.

Hot AC is no longer 80's and 90's in most markets. Witness this week's chart:
http://www.americasmusiccharts.com/index.cgi?fmt=A2

The lines are pretty blurred between CHR and Hot AC right now. The primary difference is that Hot AC plays more gold and isn't as teen oriented. But the gold mostly goes only back about 10 years. Songs that used to take 6 months to cross over from Top 40 to Hot AC now tend to chart simultaneously on both charts.
