What Is "Authentic" Conservative Talk Radio? Apparently Not Anything Local

Point man for Detroit's newest talk station insists WJR is not "authentically" conservative, while his line-up of mostly third-string syndicated product is the real deal:

I would think that one of the stations in Detroit would at least try to improve the human condition in that area of the world instead of spewing more bladderass programming. Just sayin'....

I am married to a Detroiter and believe me, that city has problems far and above anything
a radio station is going to be able to fix.

CLKW couldn't do it with 20/20 news (refer back to its coverage of the 67 riots and aftermath.), so what makes you think any radio station could "improve the human condition in that area of the world?

Any media that caries news or commentary can have at least a tiny amount of influence on a community. Once in a while in past years you could come across a radio station, a TV station or a newspaper that had enough"traction" within a community to make some difference. In the Civil Rights era in some communities the radio stations with "band together" and as a group they could get a message across to a community.

It could be said that the stations didn't make a difference, they simply enabled the citizens of the community to make a difference.

Those of us who remember those situations, those of us who participated in thos situations remember something that can't happen in todays talk and news atmosphere. Back then we were working together for "unity", for peaceful resolution. Today's News/Talk atmosphere is all about dis-unity. Peacefule resolution is seen as an evil outcome.

The NATIONAL news/talks scene has become so toxic (both sides) that it is virtually impossible for a peacemaker to gain any traction at the local level today.

It's a real shame so many News/Talkers are abandoning LOCAL news talk coverage, and using outside companies to do their newscasts. If stations can't even pay someone for 5 minutes of local news an hour, you sure as hell won't get any local 2 or 3 hour shows either.
