What is CC thinking?

106.1 sounds more like a CHR every day, and I'm starting to suspect it's part of the reason for the IOQ ratings drop, they play more hit music during the IOQ morning show, which most people who are from Philly don't want to hear a New Yorker talk about people lifting toliet paper with their asscheeks..

I know, ISX airs stuff that IOQ would never air, like the dance party on weekend nights, or the romance consultant on saturday nights... But the playlists that are on yes.com are really comparable for isx and ioq, isx originally leaned towards 80's / 90's / Now playing mostly 90's, then morphed to 90's 2k today; now it's 2k and Today playing (MAYBE) one 90's song every half hour

I have to say, ISX did replace IOQ in the afternoons (I listen to MGK or RFF in mornings) for me.

I would have thought CC would be more interested in keeping it's TSL up in top five, but I think they only care both stations are cuming well.

Also, WISX can be compared to WRDW and WSTW too, it plays
(WISX/WRDW)
"We found love" by Rihanna
"Stereo Hearts" by gym class heroes
"It will rain" by Bruno mars
"without you" by david guetta
"you make me feel" by cobra starship
"set fire to the rain" by Adele
"party rock" by lmfao
"sexy and I know it" by lmfao
"Low" by flo rida

WISX plays a lot of songs WIOQ plays, it'd be painful to compare.
I'm really just asking, is it just me or does it compare?

What they're probably thinking is that in New York Z-100 and WKTU have pretty much the same formats as 102.1 and 106.1 here and are both killing it in the ratings.

But does KTU sound like Z-100?

It's as similar to Z-100 as WISX is to Q-102, if not more.

Just checked it out, looks like it's a CHR. - I actually picked that up at Longwood, believe it or not. 926 meets 202. You can pick up KTU there with tropo. Sounds fringe, but understandable.
My car's antenna has some extra oomf, however. (being as I enjoy AM radio still and some stations that are fringe)

KTU definately has similar music than Z. I'm in their market. I wish KTU was Alternative like Radio 104.5.

or Merlin's WEMP? Haha. They'd pull huge numbers with an alt in new York.

The music on 106.1 is much the same as KTU but the imaging is completely different. KTU is the "Beat of New York," playing on the disco heritage of those call letters (on a different frequency). Maybe that's what 106.1 needs? The Beat of Philadelphia?

KTU is 4th 6+ and 2nd in 25-54 in New York. Clear Channel New York has 1, 2 and 3 in 25-54.

ISX passed BEB in a few demo's - the ones BEB held that were female and younger, such as 22-32 or something close to that;

BEB holds all female 45+ or something, demographics is really not my thing.

It seems like it's a IOQ to ISX thing, like USL to DAS-F

Trying to control more of the younger demo and lead them to their older-ish demo stations.

However, ISX also fits younger audiences - I saw a few younger posters on their facebook. I doubt they have much of a demo in that:
