What is clear channel doing with sunny

Wow, Sunny didn't last long after Madison got there. Wasn't that a pretty quick decline and death?

Sad to say, Sunny 93.9 is slated to die the day after Christmas; the promos they're running suggest the new format will be rhythmic AC, but who knows? They pulled this kind of stunt two years ago with 100.7 when it was still WTRG; in May 2004 WTRG announced they were "signing off" in June; instead, the "sign-off" stunt was actually a lead-in to a sweepstakes giving away a huge chunk of money, and WTRG lived on. Five months later, in November, they killed WTRG, stunted it for a week, and even led us to believe (for that weekend) that the new 100.7 would be country. The name--- 100.7 The Bull--- proved to be prophetic, as that format proved to be just that: a load of bull. The following Monday, 100.7 became The River, and the current WRVA calls came a week later. Now, of course, the WRVA callsign is outdated since The River took over CR from WRDU before WRDU became The Rooster. As for Sunny, I don't think the WRSN callsign will survive either, but what the new callsign would be is also, of course, up in the air; CC isn't yet talking about what the new 93.9 will be named.
