What is EEI doing with weekends

It's Saturday at 9:00 a.m. I'm doing my usual checking in with WEEI, WBZ-FM and WPRO, to decide which sports topic I am interested in listening to. EEI has Mutt (sic) and Bradford on; I thought Mustard and Johnson were back to their old slot (with the celebrity callers at their regular times). What is EEI doing? Why isn't there consistency? I know BZ has changed things up on weekends, but I expect that during its shakedown period. Is EEI so worried it can't figure out stability?

Mustard and Johnson will be on after the BC football game. I dont know why WEEI did this ??? .

During the college football season the Sports Hub has been running national games on Saturday afternoons and evenings when the Bruins aren't playing. WEEI figures they can grab some listeners by countering with a local show even if it's on the weekend. Mustard and Johnson ran until 8pm tonight while the Sports Hub was still in college football mode. It probably won't make too much difference, but I can say that I tuned into WEEI for the first time in awhile driving home this evening since I have no interest in college football. I've had few complaints about the Sports Hub since they signed on, but one of them is the lack local talk on the weekend. Hardy and Troop are fine, but they could use a few more local shows.

I get the counter-programming idea, but can't they do that with Mutt and Bradford? I'm still not clear why switching shows around is an effective counter-strategy; why not simply move one's time slot, and not both? That station has made some positive changes, but not everything it does makes sense.

fine with me... put them in the Saturday PM graveyard and put the superior show on in the morning...
I've got a better idea..........put them on the overnight shift.

Seriously, I don't know what 'EEI is doing on weekends, but they've just about lost me completely. I haven't heard one second of M&J since they came back and the few times I've listened to Mutt and Bradford I've switched back and forth with 98.5. I don't know if they're trying harder because of the competition, but they seem to be forcing trying to be funny. Neither, especially Mutnansky, is naturally funny so it doesn't work. They still attract the dregs of callers, Danny, Jack from Lynn, Steve from F.R. etc.

Perillo and Curran, as long as they were in studio, would be better than Dale and Holley on the football show. Holley is just too much of a know-it-all. He's becoming more and more obnoxious. Christian Faurier(sp?) sounds like a babbling moron at times. I see very little reason to have 'EEI on at all on weekends.

Jack from Lynn still calls WEEI? Eddie Andelman's favorite caller? Good grief...

He still calls and the calls always manage to include some way to blow his own horn. I've never met the guy but I know his life story. When Mutnansky first came on, Jack was trying to lead him to believe that he had his own show at one time. A later caller blew his cover though.
