As far as I know, 99.7 is staying put, even though they are emphasizing 107.1 now ..
Probably the only time you'll hear them mention 99.7 is at the top of the hour ..
Why don't they put a format similar to 93.1 from Wildwood on 99.7? There are plenty of older people who would support it, and it has a very limited signal to begin with. And for the love of God why don't they wake up and put G-Rock back on 98.5? Press could have the market cornered with all these formats. And let's be realistic, nobody will take them on by flipping their stations to compete.

Press Communications is convinced that alternative rock is "not mass appeal", and thus has dropped it with no chance of ever bringing it back. It's probably for the best, given how poorly they ran the station, micromanaging it to death with the constant tinkering, staff changes, and whatnot.
As for them doing a format similar to Easy 93.1 ... a very good non-comm in 91.9 WBNJ does well in serving the older audiences with its mix of big band, standards, and oldies. Being that it pretty much overlaps the WBHX signal, I don't see them switching to this format. Press probably considers the audience you mentioned an undesirable demo anyway, since in their infinite wisdom they thought yet another station playing Taylor Swift and the rest of the cavalcade of bubblegum pop acts was a brilliant idea.
If they do indeed decide to spin off 99.7, they should go with either a niche format or something that isn't available in the market. I still like the idea of a talk format, though I think it would be foolish not to make it a two-station simulcast if they were to go in such a direction.
